Alaric and Caroline were contacted by a witch that lives in Ohio and they drove a black van and were dressed in winter outfits. Because, well... it's winter.

The story is that a couple of so called werewolf hunters were tracking a werewolf into the city of Columbus. They cornered him in some abandon warehouse. Now these people didn't do enough research because they should have known that silver doesn't hurt werewolves. Wolfsbane does. Though according to Caroline at that time, not an easy herb to find.

But these guys weren't just tracking a werewolf as they found out and they ended up getting killed.

Shay, a witch and a cop (detective) found the bodies, which was simple enough.

Her brother, Jamie, also a witch and a doctor, as well as an expert on supernaturals (to some extent) has deduced that this isn't the doing of an ordinary werewolf as werewolves in general (minus the crescent wolves) can't turn anytime they want.

And it certainly didn't take Shannon that long to find the hybrid, because he left something behind. A necklace. Which she used for a Locater Spell. And after tracking him to the national park, she put him to sleep with a spell and injected him with wolfsbane and vervain. And brought him home.

Shannon couldn't believe it. 'There hasn't been a hybrid like this one in two years.'

Alaric and Caroline arrived at her house, where she was waiting for them.

"Dr. Satltzmen, Mrs. Forbes, thank you for meeting me." Shannon shook both of their hands.

"It's our pleasure." Alaric replied.

"May we come inside?" Caroline asked. Being a vampire and all, she has to be invited in.

"Yeah, sure." Shannon lets them in as it's cold out and not to mention it's best that she tells them something.

Both guest were given some coffee as Jamie was upstairs making sure he's alright. The boy is taking a shower as he's covered in blood and not to mention he looked like he hasn't had a good bath in awhile.

To make sure he doesn't run off, after Alaric and and Caroline came in, Jamie erected a barrier spell around the house to make sure he doesn't escape.

"So what happened? Who's the werewolf?" Ric asked.

"This isn't just a normal werewolf. Jamie used a spell to identify what kind of supernatural he's dealing with. And let's just say he's not your typical werewolf." Shanon explained. A little uneasy.

"What do you mean?" Caroline asked.

"Well the werewolf hunters he killed, he did so by turning into a full wolf and killed them all. Time of death was 3:30pm."

Alaric frowned. "How could he do that?"

"He's a werewolf/vampire hybrid." Shanon told them and they were surprised.

"But that can't be. I mean all the hybrids are dead. Including..." Caroline hesitate to say his name. She feels bad for not being with him when he died.

"I know. But this one is different. This one was born with vampirism. He killed someone, he activated his curse. When someone killed him, he came back, killed his attacker and drank his blood." Shanon explained.

Alaric was taken aback. The only one he knows, who was born with vampirism is a certain Tribrid. Now they have a hybrid. "Did you find out who he is?"

Shanon nodded and she called her brother. "Jamie? Is he done?"

"Yeah, he's just putting on some clothes." The male witch replied.

"Ok, burn his old ones." Shanon told him. And within a minute later, Jamie comes down and behind him is a teenage boy, with brown eyes, tan skin and black hair. He was given something that can counteract any vervain and wolfsbane in his system.

He looks at them, though he doesn't know them at first and asked. "Who are you?"

"Before they answer that, you might wanna tell them your name. And I mean your full name." Shanon said to him, but the boy wasn't sure if he should trust them as he doesn't know these people. At first at least.

"It's ok." Jamie assured him, but as the boy looks at Caroline for a moment, a memory hits him.

🐺🧛🏻‍♂️ (Flashback, December 2017)

After finding Tyler's body in the trunk of a green mustang, along with the little boy that's his son, that Damon had left on I-20, Matt brings Tyler and his son home to Mystic Falls, the former in a casket while also alerting Caroline, Bonnie and Alaric of Tyler's tragic end.

Once at the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan looks over his body as Caroline and Matt watch him from the back, all saddened by his death. And even more so knowing his kid is never going to see him again.

The boy rarely spoke, only nodding and shaking his head and forming tears. He's also holding a stuffed wolf toy in his arms.

Matt, Caroline, Stefan and Alaric take him to the cemetery in order to bury his dad's body with the rest of the Lockwood Family

Matt, Caroline, Stefan and Alaric take him to the cemetery in order to bury his dad's body with the rest of the Lockwood Family. However, they're interrupted by Damon, whose has already dug four holes, one for each of them. Stefan approaches, Damon insists that he be cautious, as it was underestimating him that got Tyler killed. And his kid was forced to watch.

Once Damon is captured, the group decides to give Tyler a proper memorial in front of the Ferris wheel at the Carnival, each of them saying their goodbyes to him. With Eli only saying "bye daddy."

Stefan reminds them that no one knows what comes next for them after death but they can't allow that to haunt them or make them forget what they mean to each other. He looks over to the Ferris wheel, recalling the moment that he set up there with Elena and told her how important it was to appreciate the moment since that's all they have.

He cuts on all the lights to the Carnival, explaining that in honor of Tyler and Elena, they have to continue to create joyful moments.

Stefan also altered Eli's mind, compelling him into thinking his dad died in a car crash. Just so he doesn't have to relive the memories of seeing his dad killed.

In that moment, during that night, Eli is now the last of his bloodline. His family. The only one left. Their last hope for the future.

🐺🧛🏻‍♂️

He hadn't seen them 11 years. 12 years since he watched his dad get killed, which still haunts him to this day and he still has nightmares over it. And his hate for the man that murder him is still alive.

It was Caroline that he stayed with, before his aunt picked him up. Despite Caroline and Matt's protest, neither can keep him because they're not his relatives. And thus he had to go to his closest kin. Which is his aunt, who had lived in Seattle. But that changed. And now he is all alone. For the moment.

He nods at Jamie and looks to the two people that hadn't seen him since he was six years old. And they're about to get the shock of their life as he's going to say his name.

"Eli. My name is Eli Matteo Lockwood."
