Caroline and Alaric couldn't believe it. They were face to face with Eli Lockwood. The only living son of Tyler Lockwood. The last of The Lockwood lineage and Apisi Werewolf Bloodline. And now a werewolf vampire hybrid.
They hadn't seen him in 11 years. Since he was a small boy. And Caroline can see that he almost looks like his dad.
The relationship of Caroline and Tyler began when Tyler triggered his werewolf curse, she wanted to help him and never left him alone. They began spending a great deal of time together and Tyler fell in love with her despite the fact that Caroline was in a relationship with his best friend Matt.
After Caroline and Matt broke up, they began a romantic relationship. Everything got complicated when Klaus Mikaelson turned Tyler into a hybrid and also fell in love with Caroline. After Tyler conspires against Klaus, the latter ordered him out of Mystic Falls to spare his life.
When Klaus returned for Graduation, he gave Caroline the gift of Tyler's freedom to return to Mystic Falls. Their relationship completely fell apart and are now broken up, however they still remain good friends up until Tyler's death.
The man Caroline fell in love and broken up with left a son behind. A boy that was all what's left of the young man she knew.
"Oh my god. Eli." Was all she said. "How have you been?"
Eli recognized Caroline. Though as a kid, he didn't know she was a vampire and now that he does, he's unsure if he should be happy to see one of his dad's good friends or not be happy because one of them is a vampire. "Not good." He replied looking down at the floor.
Alaric was talking with Shanon and the file she showed him made him feel so sorry for the kid. The files says that Eli's aunt, Elaine Lupo is dead. Older sister of Luna Lupo.
Eli has also been explaining to Caroline how he became what he became. Though Caroline can tell it was hard for him to talk about it. For it was traumatic enough for him. For her to hear what the kid went through and now that he's all alone, she feels sorry for him.
There was a long pause before Caroline moved forward fast and tugged the boy into her arms. At first, Eli didn't know what to do at first, as he hadn't seen this woman in a long time. Not since he was six. Not to mention he wasn't her son - or Alaric's.
But they had already shown so much compassion for him in the short time they'd met him as a kid. To him he wasn't just some orphaned kid, let alone a hybrid. He's all that's left of Tyler. And there's no need for him to look for a pack, for he can use a home. And a school.
Indeed, Eli's plan was to find a werewolf pack that will take him in. But now that his vampire side was activated, there was no way they'll welcome him.
"Eli, I know a place where you'll feel safe. And at home with others like you." Eli frowned and asked.
