Derek knew something was wrong when his spell suggested that they were at the mystic falls crypt. And yet Alyssa and The Necromancer weren't. At least he thought so. But then Derek thought back, maybe somehow they moved before he and the other witches got there.
What's even more strange is that MG went to check if they double back. And he hasn't heard from him, which Derek is worried. So to play it safe, he goes to find him. But not before placing a couple of protection spells on him. In case he gets surprised by anything else.

Eli has so earn the boyfriend of the year award as he brings Hope breakfast in bed, along with a rose. The French toast is light, fluffy, and most important NOT soggy. It has the perfect amount of vanilla and cinnamon. He likes to top warm slices with butter, maple syrup, and a dusting of confectioner's sugar. He even added fresh fruit to make it extra special.
"Well, well, well. I think after college, you should open up your own restaurant."
Eli chuckled. "I'm still aiming to be a novelist. But... I could always have a good restaurant on the side." He kisses Hope on the lips.
"Thank you. And consider me impressed, capo maestro (master chief)."
Eli smiled when Hope started using Italian words, though she still has a long way to go. "il mio obiettivo è compiacere la signorina Mikaelson." Eli chuckled as he's reminded that Hope is still working on her Italian. "I aim to please, Miss Mikaelson. And also, we have officially been boyfriend and girlfriend for one year. The French Toast anniversary I like to call it."
After tasting that French Toast, Hope's face told Eli it was delicious.
As the two talk about what they should do for their date, Hope remarks that she wants to make the day "special", and... Eli agrees that he is ready to take the next step in their relationship. He just hopes (no pun intended) that his girlfriend is ready. And that he hopes he is. Because this is a very big step.
Many young couples "do it" before they get married, it's true. And some wait on their wedding night, but... at this point, for Eli at least, he's restrained himself enough. So he really needs to make sure Hope knows what she's asking.
Hell, even in his dad's journal, he said and quote "I'm horny all the time." And for Eli, being a lycan, part lycan that is, his kind is very possessive over those they love and have a deep connection with. Especially males, and they have a strong sex drive.
Those who are born as lycanthropes or were bit very young don't reach full "wolf maturity" until they reach puberty, which is somewhere between the age of 11 and 14. When they reach that point, their body starts to change rapidly, their urges to transform start to show more and more, almost uncontrollably. At this point, they may only be able to partially shift, showing maybe only fur and fangs. In the case of Eli, he was seventeen when he turned into his crinos form.
