When it came to monsters, it is always wise to prepare yourself. And Eli? Well he's read about Chimeras before.
According to Greek Mythology, it was a monstrous fire-breathing female creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of multiple animals: upon the body of a lioness with a tail that ended in a snake's head, the head of a goat arose on her back at the center of her spine.
The Chimera was one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna and a sibling of such monsters as Cerberus and the Hydra. The term chimera is used to describe any mythical animal with parts taken from various animals.
Now Eli has to think. How the hell is he gonna beat a monster with the myths not stating any weakness at all? Before he can transform, before the monster can attack, it was pushed back by an invisible force. That's when Derek Bennett appeared in front of him, with his back facing Lockwood. "Since when can you do that?" Eli asked.
