Chapter 2

"Ah, there you are sweetie; I was just about to come find you. Ellie, I would like you to meet Laura. She is our new next door neighbour. She just moved from Georgia" Marne said to me, Marne is my mother, but she isn't like normal mum's, she dresses and acts like she is a teen which is good cause I can tell her anything and raid her wardrobe.

"Nice to meet you, so far your mum has told me a bit about you. You are about to start Junior year at Bells High right? I have a son starting there on Monday, you should meet him. In fact why don't you both come over for dinner tonight, like a meet and greet dinner" Laura pronounced, she also seemed like my mum, and I could tell they were going to get along just fine.

"That would be lovely, but, I got to get some crappy work done but I'm sure Ellie would love to go, right Hun?" Mum replied "Although I would be done later, come grab some drinks with me"

"Yea, definitely" I smiled, yes this is the perfect time to get away from my thoughts, forget about Tyler and become a real girl again rather than one always fearing rejection

"Wonderful, see you around 6?" Laura said walking out the door

I told mum about Tyler, and she said "he was never good enough for you love" and "You deserve better, someone tall, dark and handsome". Have you ever heard of the saying, 'speak of the devil and they shall appear', well I spoke, he awoke.

TYLER: BABE, I AM SO SORRY. PLEASE FORGIVE ME. IT IS OVER BETWEEN ME AND JESS, BESIDES NOTHING WAS EVER HAPPENING, SHE WAS KISSING ME AND I SAID NO BUT SHE FOURCED IT TO HAPPEN... I LOVE YOU; MEET ME BY OUR TREE TONIGHT?

ME: I'M GOING TO DINNER; WE WILL TALK ABOUT THIS LATER.

I was greeted by a little girl "You must be Ellie, come in" she smiled to me, she had blonde hair (like Laura's) and it was pulled into pig tails. She had a Barbie in her hand and my hand in her other "Mummy, can Ellie come play with my Barbie's with me?"

Laura turned around and smiled, she was preparing a salad by chopping tomatoes, she stopped cutting and began speaking "Hello Ellie, now Lacy, your 6 now, you have to ask Ellie not me"

"I don't mind" I smiled but before I could say anything else I was being dragged up some stairs by little Lacy.

"We are going to be best friends, I know it. You're going to love Josh, he is my brother, he is around your age, I'm six......." Lacy was speed talking for around five minutes before I could catch up again. She handed me a brown haired Barbie that I think was supposed to me, we did the Barbies hair for 20 minutes "Ellie? Are your mummy and daddy together still?"

"No, they broke up years ago" I smiled vaguely to the little Lacy, but our conversation was cut short by a knock on the door.

"Hey Lac- Oh hey you" He smiled to me then laughed to see me doing a Barbie's hair but there was something by the way he spoke that sent weird tingles down my spine, but the good kind.

"This is Ellie, she is my BFF" Lacy smiled
