chapter 27

So this book is about Damon but I'm having a hard time getting to it, as there's too much focus on Emilia but now she knows everything it's slowly gonna become more mafia related.

Just a heads up I read a few chapters of unwanted twin where Damon was a dick, that sort of behaviour is coming back. He's not a nice guy. But it won't be directed at Em.

Monday mornings were never fun. Yesterday Emilia had most of her questions answered by Alesandro and she didn't know how to feel. Part of her wanted to talk to Antonio about it but he wasn't family (a/n not yet) so she couldn't tell him.

Only Damon and Alesandro knew she knew Damon was the boss, so she decided she would have some fun with the others. Damon considered it too childish though and didn't want anything to do with messing with them.

So Monday morning came and the family are breakfast together, purely because they were all up at the same time.

"Can Sophia come round tonight" Emilia asked when she remembered the conversation they had last night.

Sophia suspected Daniel was cheating on her.

The two of them were going to form a plan to try and find out the truth.

"Why can't you go round to hers" Dante said.

"I think it's a good idea, it's been a while since I spoke to Soph, how is she" Matteo added, giving Sophia a nickname on purpose.

"Since when did you talk to her and what's with the nickname" Dante asked.

Emilia smiled knowing Matteo was winding Dante up.

Mason snickered, he was sat next to Emilia so he leaned over and whispered "reckon we should set up Mr grumpy over there next"

Emilia looked to Damon who was watching unimpressed.

"Personally I don't think anyone wants him. Although he does seem quite close to the Mafia boss, I recently learnt they share secrets with each other, mostly about me though"

Dante and Matteo paused their bickering and snickered.

Mason had not expected that response so he too laughed slightly.

And Alesandro choked on his coffee looking at Emilia with a 'wtf look'

Damon did not look impressed.

"I suppose you're right, he's s the only person he can stand the company of" Dante said.

"Im going to work" Damon snapped.

"To see your boss?" Emilia innocently asked.

"Perhaps when you're walking alone on a street one night, he won't bother stopping to help you out if you're going to be a brat " Damon said knowing that he would always keep her safe.

"But I have you demon, why would I need him" she said smiling innocently.

Her three other brothers were feeling guilty but Alesandro watched in amusement, letting her have some fun with the knowledge.

Damon normally would have agreed but she knew the truth and was mocking him.
"If I can be bothered" Damon said wanted a reaction out of her.

"He'll be too busy with his boss but I'll be there to save you bambina" Alesandro decided to add.

Damon looked at his father giving him such a dirty look.

"Now now let's not taunt him. I happen to know he has taken a liking to a certain woman" Mason said loving the drama.

"And he never told us?" Emilia exclaimed dramatically.

"Because there is no woman" Damon said rolling his eyes.

"Man?" Emilia asked.

Damon looked like he was ready to grab his gun and end his life, his sister was really exhausting today. On a Monday morning of all days.

"No Emilia, I'm straight" he simply stated.

"Too bad I was really hoping you would end up with the boss" Emilia said. She knew she was basically saying 'i really hope you end up alone' but she didn't care.

"I'm going" he said.

"Make sure you say hello to Fred at least"

Damon paused and turned around to look at his sister, his brothers and father were all looking at Emilia like she was insane.

"Who the fuck is Fred" Dante asked wanting to know who he needed to threaten.

"The Mafia boss of course, he won't tell me who he is so I named him Fred" she explained.

Another guilty look from her three brothers.

"You're impossible" Damon said and walked away.

He knew she had been telling him all along that he should be alone or at least something along those lines.

He took out his phone as he headed to the garage.

Callum : got an update from Clara about her former gang planning on coming to Italy.

Damon rolled his eyes, Clara annoyed him so much, she was living several hours away now but if there was a plan. He would need her back so he could gather information on them more efficiently. And of course keep an eye on her so she doesn't double cross him and not help her former gang.

Damon : go collect her from wherever she is.

He only knew vaguely, he left Callum to deal with her properly.
He had an address where she was living but he never bothered to find out much more.

Meanwhile as he left for work, his family were obviously talking about him.

"So who's the girl" Dante asked.

"I think it's best we don't go into this, not with his ex still roaming about" Alesandro decided.

"That's true. He hates her but she's not dead so that's a good sign"

"Okay enough I don't want to hear anymore death talk, as I was saying can Sophia come over?" Emilia said not wanting to acknowledge what Mason was implying.

"Yes of course she can. Are you inviting anymore of your friends, I would love to meet the others, Evan, Hailey and Lucy right?" Alesandro replied.

"Yeah that's them but no it will just be me and Sophia, Antonio might tag along though"

"That's fine bambina. Dante I might be home late so I expect you to be in to watch over your younger siblings" Alesandro said. He never made his older kids watch their younger siblings growing up, it wasn't their responsibility, he made sure to always be there. However at times like this, he just wanted to play matchmaker. Emilia was 16 and Matteo 17, they didn't need watching.
Dante knew that they didn't need watching either but he couldn't refuse to do it so he agreed.
