Clara felt nervous, she had only ever met Mason. She could tell Mason was protective, she knew he wasn't someone to be messed with. She only really interacted with him in a mafia setting and he rarely showed emotion.
She hoped the cold attitude didn't run in the family.
"We'll stay for dinner then we'll leave. There's no point dragging this out" Damon told her before opening the front door.
No one was yelling. It was quiet and Clara found it to be the exact opposite of what she imagined the most powerful family to be like.
Damon placed his hand on her arm and squeezed it a little too tight "Oh and Clara, if you talk to my sister you do not mention Alexia" Damon warned quietly. He had forgot Clara knew that he had tortured Alexia and he couldn't have Clara saying anything.
"I won't say anything I promise. Please let go you're hurting me"
She was suprised at how quickly Damon let her go and she realised he wasn't aware it was hurting her."Father we're here" Damon called as he walked in the direction of the kitchen. He knew his dad would be busy preparing the meal.
When they entered, Alesandro, Sienna and Emilia were cooking. Emilia glanced at Clara, curious as to who she was.
"Why don't you go spend some time with your brothers" Alesandro suggested to Emilia only it wasn't a suggestion. Emilia nodded and left.
"You must be Clara, I'm Alesandro" Alesandro introduced himself. It was rather pointless but it was good manners.
"But feel free to call him anything you like, he anwsers to Albert too" Sienna jumped in knowing how nervous Clara probably was.
"Alesandro is just fine. Why don't you take a seat. You shouldn't be on your feet so much" Alesandro said.
Clara didn't want to argue so thanked him and sat down.
"When are they due to get here" Damon asked bluntly.
"Any minute now" Alesandro replied.
"I'm still regretting agreeing to this" Sienna mumbled but she was heard.
"Don't worry about it Si, I'll tell them to leave if they say anything" Alesandro said knowing his parents had been too critical of her.
"Are they really that bad? Maybe I should leave?" Clara was worried.
"They're fine. We'll only stay a little while don't worry" Damon told her. He turned to his dad "we need to talk before I go"
Alesandro nodded "I have a few minutes now if you want, all the food is in the oven"
Damon nodded "Sienna If you don't mind can you make sure she doesn't do anything to strenuous" Damon asked. Sienna agreed and with that Damon and Alesandro left the room. They chose Alesandros office as it was private.
"So Clara? Am I finally gonna get some grandkids?" Alesandro teased.
Damon rolled his eyes "I can't believe I'm actually coming to you for advice"
"Well I am good at advice son" Alesandro said like it was the most obvious thing.
"How did you let Sienna in" Damon asked .
"Well it just happened naturally, despite our competitive nature we both have respect for each other. We spent time together outside of work and I suppose when she lived here for a brief amount of time it did make us closer" Alesandro explained.
"Well that's no help. I'm spending time with Clara and she's staying with me until she's better but I don't feel like I can truly let her in" Damon complained.
