chapter 46

It had been a day since Stephanie was killed. After they got back, Damon turned his cold hearted mafia persona back on. She hadn't seen him since.

She was going down for breakfast when Mason appeared. He spotted Clara and within seconds he had her pinned to the wall by her neck, choking her, he was angry and wanted her dead.
"You stupid lying bitch" I continued to squeeze as she coughed tears forming in her eyes.
"I haven't done anything" she said gasping for air.

"Olivia told me you fucking almost killed Damon. I'm not about to let you succeed" he snarled.

"I didn't" she gasped for air again.

"Fucking liar" Mason went to slap her but his hand was caught by Damon who had been heading in the direction when he saw his brother choking Clara, he had gone over.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing. Let her go" Damon ordered.

"This is Stephanie all over again. She fucking tried to kill you and you are protecting her" Callum snapped irritated with his brother.

"Instead of trying to kill her with no proof, you come talk to me" Damon said.

"It's okay he was just trying to protect you. God knows what he's been told" she replied.

"It's not okay though. He fucking nearly killed you" Damon said.

"Both brothers have tried to kill me, fun " Clara said.

"What has she done that's supposedly trying to kill me" Damon asked Mason.

"That job she went on, she started a shoot out forcing you to go into the club and almost get killed. Olivia was crying to me all morning, she's worried about you" Mason explained.

Damon sighed , he had been avoiding Olivia because he didn't want to do anything he would regret.

"Let's go to my office. Clara you can come too if you wish"  Damon said. He had calmed down since Stephanie was no longer a threat but knowing what Olivia had done had him angry.

Clara followed behind nervous, she was worried Mason might attack her any minute.

"You can see for yourself what happened" he stated once they went into his office, he went round to his computer and within minutes got the camera footage up of both Clara and Olivia's cameras.

(A/N you know what happened with Clara's so I'm not going to write it)

Olivia's camera showed her walking up to the group of men. She attempted to flirt with them, they told her to go away and she repeatedly tried, they  rejected her again and when she tried asking them why they weren't interested, one said they liked her friend and to invite her other. (Meaning Clara). Olivia tried to tell them she was a better and they finally had enough and told her to go away pointing there guns but instead she got out her gun and admitted she knew they worked for Stephanie. And then the chaos began.

"She told me all that happened but instead it was Clara doing the flirting and starting the fight" Mason admitted.

As he watched the chaos he couldn't help but notice how his brother protected Clara.

"Fuck. That means I tried to kill her for no reason" he realised his error.

"You have to understand Clara, in our family, family means everything. Damon has saved my life so many times, and he was blinded by Stephanie to see how she really was. I grew up knowing Olivia so I automatically believed her story, there was a few added bits about how close you both were and how you had manipulated him into trying to get rid of her. Stephanie tried to manipulate Damon into getting rid of Callum and Olivia but also tried to isolate him from his family. I got angry and was going to confront Damon about it but I saw you and snapped. I am extremely sorry I did that" Mason explained.
