"You never asked why I even left" she whispered after some time.
"Does it look like I fucking care" he didn't care but he now she had mentioned it, he was curious.
"Nobody cares really. I'm dead when they see me for what I've done" she said.
Damon sighed in frustration. "Fine tell me"
There was silence and Damon was loosing his patience. He had better things to do with his time and yet here he was waiting for a traitor to explain why she betrayed the gang.
"I don't have time for your games. Go back to your room" he said dismissing her.
He didn't trust her so she was confined to a small bedroom.
"They wanted me to kill innocent people" she blurted out.
The memory of them had her zone out but Damon's sharp and demanding tone had snapped her back to reality.
"No one is truly innocent in this line of work, even a stupid kid dealing drugs is a criminal. Just because you feel sorry for them doesn't make them innocent" Damon said.
"But the family with a pregnant mother and a toddler are innocent" she said.
Damon hadn't realised she litterally meant innocent. Gangs had better things to do then go after people who had no criminal connection at all. It actually got him curious.
"So why them?" He asked knowing there must be a reason they had targeted them.
"He didn't say at first but I was tasked with undercover work and the only connection to crime this family had was a parking ticket. He ordered me to kill them, when I asked again, he said the 3 year old child had witnessed him kill someone. I had to protect the family. I sent them to live somewhere else, I got labelled as a traitor that day....and we're both aware what happens to traitors" she summarised.
"How can a three year old witness that , where were the parents" he asked.
"He was at daycare, there is a alley that can be seen from the playground " she told him.
"And the family, where did you place them?" He asked.
"England" she confessed knowing Damon wouldn't harm them.
He was cruel to his enemies but from knowing him in such a short amount of time, she knew he would never hurt a family who truly were innocent.
"Very well. I'm sure that you as bait will attract even more attention. I know no one likes to let a traitor live" he said harshly.
"That's it then. I am to die?" She whispered.
"If you live then you live, but I won't go out of my way to make sure you live" he told her.
"I can't wait" she muttered.
"Me too. It should be fun. I do love watching my enemies die" he said looking at her with an expression that made Clara see just how sick Damon was.
"You're sick " she told him.
"No. That would imply there is a cure. And trust me, there is no cure"
He laughed when he saw the fear on her face. It was a dark and deadly laugh that sent a chill down Clara's spine.
"You can leave" he dismissed her and she gladly left.
She wanted to lock herself away in her room unfortunately she wasn't looking properly and bumped into Mason.
Mason was with Olivia and Olivia couldn't help but glare at the girl.
"I see you've just been talking to my brother" Mason said. He could tell by her expression.
