chapter 109

So last chapter there was a 'development' in Damon and Clara's relationship.
Damon as a character is quite complex but in this instance I'm gonna be portraying him as a teddy bear and gradually more darker mafia boss when it comes to some aspects of their relationship. Yes I know it's wattpad and this book is probably quite tame but Is everyone okay with seeing a darker side of Damon when he's with Clara? And how much more darker is everyone okay with?

"you made it" Alesandro said as Clara and Damon entered.
"Yes we said we were coming didn't we" Damon said. He had yet to let go of Clara's hand.

"It's good to see you Clara" Alesandro said straight up ignoring his son.

"Si is in the kitchen, come on, I'll get you some wine" Alesandro said and began to lead Clara away.

"What about me?"  Damon complained.

"Mason wanted to talk to you. I guess you could do that" Alesandro shrugged and led Clara to the kitchen. Damon reluctantly went in the opposite direction and upstairs. He wanted to be with Clara but he knew Mason would want him for something important.

"What is it mason" Damon asked walking into Masons room. He didn't bother knocking, he wanted the conversation over and done with so he could go back downstairs.

"Olivia is worried about you so I thought I'd check in"

."I'm sure she is " Damon muttered.

"Callum is too" Mason added seeing Damon looking angry at the mention of Olivia.

Damon sighed.
"I don't know who I can trust anymore " he confessed.

"You can trust me" Mason immediately replied.

"You can't tell anyone, not even Callum" Damon said.

Mason nodded , a little worried about what his brother would say.

"Olivia was the one to spike Clara. Clara and I are going to work on a plan. Just don't trust anything she says " Damon told him.

"Fuck. What about Callum, I know you said not to tell him but do you think he could be involved "

"I don't know. I trusted Olivia and now this. I'm gonna run extensive background checks on them but I know to be sure I've got to catch them doing something" Damon explained.

He knew if he ran a background check on Olivia it would come back clean but he knew the truth.

"Ok this isn't healthy for either of you. Clara is going to be worried about getting hurt but you need to focus on Callum, we can't trust Olivia, Callum is basically your right hand man when I'm not about so knowing you can trust him is important" Mason said.

He knew Damon wouldn't trust a single member now until it was all over but the person who had betrayed him wasn't just a member it was a friend.

"I'll talk to Clara about it. What do you suggest though" Damon asks

"I'm not sure. I mean he's been alone with Clara and not hurt her. Does he really need to prove himself" Mason said.

"Yes" Damon replied.

"Then just ask Clara to hang out with him. I'm sure she'll be able to tell if he's out to get her" Mason said knowing Damon wouldn't agree to a fake dangerous situation.

"I'm going downstairs. Our grandparents should be here soon. Just trust no one"  Damon said and left.

He went back downstairs and heard talking coming from the living room so he went in.

His grandparents were already here.

"Where's dad"  Damon asked Dante as he took a seat in one of the arm chairs.
