chapter 59

Sienna had been debating whether to find a different job but in the end she stuck with it. It was good pay and she couldn't wait till she could afford a better place to live.

The new restaurant was so much better, the staff were all friendly and welcomed her. She got on well with them all.

It had been a few days since the incident. It was now Monday morning and she was exhausted but she didn't want to draw attention to herself so she went in.

Perhaps she should have stayed home that day........

Monday morning was a day the three youngest Russos, hated but not today because Emilia and Matteo had a plan. Dante wasnt oblivious, he just didn't realise all their secret meetings were about him.

When they got to school that morning. Emilia played the sister card.

"Dante I know you have your friends to see but I was hoping you could come to my locker with me"

"Why" Dante was suspicious. He knew his sister didn't like to be embarrassed by them. And according to her, their presence was enough to be embarrassing.  Yet the two boys were the most popular in school.

"Well Antonio messaged and he's running a little late and I don't want to be by myself"

"What about your other friends" Dante asked.

"They usually come in later than us, and Antonio is with Sophia so she's late too" Emilia explained.

"I'm sorry you can go with your friends I just find myself getting anxious" she said which wasn't a lie. She did get anxious alot in school simply because of the amount of students.

Of course Dante would have agreed either way but knowing Emilia was feeling anxious made him go into over protective brother mode.

Matteo smirked, the plan was coming together.

Antonio and Sophia weren't actually running late. Antonio was keeping Sophia occupied with a morning coffee down the road.

And when he got a message from Matteo simply stating

'it worked. Come to school '

It meant they were a few minutes walk away and Sophia and Dante could run into each other.  They both had avoided each other since Dante stated their would be no fake dating unless it's him.

"We can always pull a sick day and go home" Dante suggested.

"Dad is angry enough. I don't think he'd appreciate it" Emilia stated.

After Alesandro calmed down last week, he had apologized to his kids and gave them a explanation.

Basically telling them Sienna knew about the Mafia stuff and it got him angry because he was worried about their safety.

And it was the truth. He was a billionaire, he built an empire, he used to run the underworld, but his kids always came first and that meant there safety.

He didn't know Sienna that well so he didn't like the idea of her knowing about the mafia especially because it was a threat to his children.

"Dad's fine. You know if I take you home he'll come running home being all dramatic 'mia bambina, Mia bambina' and fuss over you" Dante said mocking his dad.

It was 100% true.

"Is everything okay" Antonio asked as he and Sophia came up to the three Russo's.

"Everything is fine" Dante stated.

"Great.  Emilia or Matteo can you tell Sophia that Toby likes her "

Toby was a bit in Matteo's year group and he did in fact like her. Matteo had found that information out when he was playing football as Toby was on the team.

"Is this Toby on the football team because I can confirm he definitely likes you" Matteo replied.

"Why the hell would he like her" Dante said.
"Yes we get it, I'm annoying, no one should like me. You're a broken record Dante" Sophia replied.

"I just think you could do better " Dante said.

"Unfortunately she's strictly a friend. And no one is better than me" Matteo replied.

"Oh please, we both know I'm better than you" Dante said, he completely forgot about the topic but their sibling rivalry came out.

"So you think you're a better choice for Sophia than Toby" Emilia asked.

Dante smirked "you two can scheme all you want. It's not happening" he told them.

"Great because Toby is much better for her. You're annoying" Matteo stated.

"I'm actually so confused what's happened " Sophia understood her friends were trying to set her up but she didn't understand why Dante was part of the plan.

Dante simply walked towards her. He was in her personal space "they want us to be together. Perhaps you should sort the crush you have on me out" he whispered.

Her cheeks did redden with his close he was. "you're in my personal space " she whispered in response.

"Stating the obvious but not telling me to move. You like me" he replied.

"You're the one in my space, you obviously like me" she said.

Dante's confident smirk fell for just a second "I shouldn't though" he whispered and with that he walked away.

Sophia couldn't stop thinking about his words all day. Her friends had asked what he said but she refused to tell them. He had basically admitted to liking her and she knew she couldn't like her best friends brother but she did.

Sorry for the shorter chapter. It was originally longer but I had gone back to Sienna and I didn't want Sienna's storyline to overshadow Dante and Sophia.

Also whilst all this is going on, Clara and Jake are together doing couple stuff and working.
