chapter 58

"is everything okay" Damon asked as he approached the two officers who were talking to Sienna in her doorway.

"Mr Russo, you saved us a trip, we need to talk to you"

Damon didn't want to jump to conclusions. Simply because she knew yet she made him brownies and they were amazing. She had hugged him too. Maybe whatever his father did made her change her mind.

"Is it a talk that needs to be held at the station"  he asked.

"Well we need a statement from you confirming the presence of miss millers ex husband here last week"

"Yes he was here why?"

"We can't disclose that. Please could we have a statement Mr Russo "

And so Damon gave one and shortly after the police were gone.

"Why do they want to know" he asked following Sienna inside.

"Restraining order. I know you're probably here to warn me but I'm not going to tell anyone "

"Actually I'm here to check if you are okay" he replied.

"Yeah right. I bet you saw me talking to the police and got worried i was telling them about your family"

"I'll admit the thought did cross my mind but you'd have already reported me by now. But instead of sending the police over, you send brownies". He tried to be nice.

"Did you like them? Last time we spoke I got the feeling you might like them" she asked, all thoughts of Alesandro threatening her went away.

Why?

Because that was Alesandro, not his kids. And she wasn't going to let that affect how she was treating his kids.

Yes she was aware Damon had warned her but that was different. He didn't hold a knife to her.

"I actually did. Thank you. May I ask why you're so calm " Damon was being very careful.

"You're not your father. He's the one who hurt me" Sienna said.

"What did he do? I thought he'd just give you a warning. Mind you he is angry" Damon asked. He was looking/glancing around her apartment as he was trying to get an idea of what type of person she was.

"He held a knife to my throat and threatened me"

Damon's complete attention was now on Sienna. Damon was a little lost for words. His dad wasn't like this. Perhaps after everything he had been through especially with Alice had made him doubt everything.

"Well I don't want to overstep or make excuses but my dad is protective of us. After everything that happened to Emilia he is probably even more protective now"

"Well he made it clear we have no friendship left and that's okay however I hope you will do me one favour " she stated.

"I don't do favours but as a thank you and an apology for my behaviour last time I was here, what do you want" he replied. He expected her to ask for money or something materialistic.

"I really don't want to put this on you so I do apologise but as your dad has made it clear no friendships. Could you please tell Matteo I'm sorry"

Damon was surprised and confused. He didn't get why she still cared about Matteo.
"Why do you still care about my brother" he asked.

"Like I said it was your dad. It wasn't Matteo's fault. And Matteo started coming to the restaurant and I'd make him food and we'd talk. He's a really good kid and I worry about him. Especially his eating habits"

He hadn't much of an opinion on Sienna till now. Right now he realised the woman truly cared about Matteo. She wasn't being nice because of their dad. And maybe giving him food too was a way of showing she cared for him too?

He didn't allow himself to believe that.  He had already been letting his guard down too much.

"I'll keep your secret don't worry. Goodbye Damon" she said.

Damon was about to wish her goodbye when she pulled him into a hug. Damon slowly hugged her back

"You're a good brother Damon but make sure you take time for yourself" she advised.

She went to remove herself from the hug but Damon hadn't made an effort to leave the hug. So the two hugged.

"If you get in any trouble , you can call me" he stated after the hug.

"I don't have your number " she replied.

And so he gave it her before walking out of the apartment.
