chapter 90

The next day , Clara woke up to find Damon wasn't in the apartment
He never left a note or anything so she was frustrated in a way. Simply because she was left to "rest" and he could go do whatever he wanted. She wanted to go out and do things but Damon insisted she rest. She was not the type to sit around and do nothing.

She decided to make herself breakfast, something Damon thought was too much work for her to do alone so at least whilst he was gone she could do normal stuff. Only once she had finally eaten it, did Damon return. She was a little disappointed as she figured if he was at work she'd have the day to herself and she could get out.

"Good morning Clara" he greeted her.

He wasn't a morning person yet seemed happy.

"Morning. There's breakfast in the microwave" she replied.

"I've already eaten but thank you" he said.

Earlier

"Would you like some breakfast too"

"I don't mind. I do need to be back soon though" Damon had replied as he put on his jacket back on not wanting Clara to realise he had been gone so long.

"It's no trouble. I'll plate us both some up" Darcy said.

Damon smiled "thank you"

They made small talk whilst having breakfast.

"I am glad we could do this again, it's been a while " Darcy said.

"Yes, well as much as I've enjoyed this little social visit. I need to get back" Damon said knowing Clara would be awake by now.

"Of course. Hopefully I'll see you again" Darcy smiled.

"Im sure we'll see each other again"

Now

"I thought you weren't a morning person, you must have gone out quite early " Clara asked making general conversation.

She was bored and having nothing to do made her more curious about Damon's life.

"Yes well I intended to be back before you woke up" Damon said. He had already eaten but he ate a little of what Clara had made not wanting her to feel like she had wasted her time.

"So can I finally do something today " she asked.

"Well I've got another family thing, would you like to come with me. Just my dad, Sienna and siblings this time" he said.

"Sure. What's the family thing today" Clara asked.

"You'll find out later. But it's going to be a long day so can you please just agree to rest" he said.

"Fine. Only if you're with me . It's boring alone"

Damon smiled "we can continue with the films later but I have to go back out. I have a few things to do" he said.

"I can't wait till I'm better. It's so boring having nothing really to do" she said.

"Invite a friend round?" Damon suggested.

He was suprised that he had no issue with it. He was very particular at who he allowed into his home.

"I don't exactly have friends here" she muttered but Damon heard.

"I could ask Callum to come round. Once you're in his presence you won't want friends" Damon offered knowing Callum would happily come over.

"No. I don't want your friends. I want my own" Clara replied. She didn't want Damon's friends as it would feel like they were obligated to be her friend and they could tell Damon anything. And if she was friends with Damon's friends, that would mean more time around Damon. She knew if this relationship was going to work they needed seperate social lives.
