The ship landed once again on Celestial island. It was the second week of September, and it was time for Loodvigg to get his own adult form. Before Scaratar had gotten their form, they weren't sure how the adult ascension would work, but they were taught by the teachers that it would go in order of each month, and told them which month is there's.And in that time, they had made a small replica of the old observatory, though it was not too stable and had fallen just a short time later during the night.
Kayna and Kayno were once again on the ship, but Krillby and Sooza were there as well, just watching what was happening.
Loodvigg quickly scuttled up to them, his face up with a smile and his small, spider legs carrying him up effortlessly. "Hello again! I-It's my time to go, isn't it?" He said with an excited tone, his hands in each other as he nervously yet eagerly looked up to them.
"Indeed it is!" Kayna smiled at him, giving him a gentle pat on the head. "Do you think you're going to be ready for this?"
Loodvigg nervously looked back to the other celestials, who cheered him on with motivation. He then turned back to her, a bit more confidently, however. "Yes." He nodded.
"Then, let's get you set up! It shouldn't be too long."
From the sidelines, Scaratar was a nervous wreck, yet continuing to encourage him to go on. The other celestials around were chatting, and wondering what he might look like, if it gets hurt to be struck with lightning like that, and if his personality would change much.
Scaratar, before she became an adult, was sneaky, caring, had an altruistic look on life, but would go to the ends of the world to help them, even if she hurt herself in the process. But as she became an adult, though still altruistic, was more wise, and could see through dishonesty, and only helped those needed to a logical sense.
Would Loodvigg also become more calm and mellow, instead of pranking and being mealy-mouthed? That's what they hoped. They really needed a forever break from that.
The two fire monsters were able to quickly mark the circle around Loodvigg, put the eggs just around him, and get the small device out. It was very quick, and they didn't notice it happened completely until the clouds rumbled loudly above them.
Once again, the fur along Attmoz's spine stood up at the sudden change of charges in the air. Hornacle kept a close claw on him though, making sure this kind of frequent event does not make this affect on him worse.
With a sudden flash of light, the celestial shadow changed in a split second.
Loodvigg unexpectedly fell to the ground, rain starting to pour down relentlessly above them. Kayna and Kayno couldn't do anything because of the rain, but Krillby was able to jump down and get to his aid just a few moments before Scaratar did.
"Loodvigg! Are you alright?" She took his hand, helping him up somewhat.Loodvigg groaned as he got back to his knees, feeling the cold rain pelt down on him without mercy, though at least somewhat soothing.
He could also feel a strange warmness on his neck despite the cold air, and when moving his head slightly, it felt as if his hair had grown more, and reached the back of his neck. That was odd, as he had a main of yellow feathers since he was made. Did he still have them, and was this the unfamiliar feeling?
"I-I'm alright.." Loodvigg managed to speak out to Scaratar.
"Thank the stars! Come on, you gotta stand up."
She was able to grab him by his waist, and pull him up to his claws gently. After a moment of holding onto her, he was able to stand back up on his own. He also came to realize just how tall he was now.Scaratar was taller than all of them when she first ascended–to Attmoz's dismay–and now he was somewhat taller than her, at least a head and half taller.
"Also, Loodvigg, we have something for you." Kayna said, and from her bag, took out a small envelope.Loodvigg and Scaratar stepped closer and slightly under the umbrella to open it, making sure to not ruin it by getting it wet before he could read the message.
Once he opened the envelope, he noticed not only a letter, but a small pack of gems.
"Ooh! A little packet of gems! Who's it from, Loodvigg?" Scaratar smiled and asked gently. He set the gems aside, then pulled out the letter to begin reading it. It reads...
"Hey, Dad. I haven't written in a while, but I do wanna say me and the other ethereals are doing good, and I hope your days are doing better than in the past. I wish you well, and I brought a few stray crystals from ethereal island to remember us. You're–only and favorite son–Grumpyre.""Aw, that's so sweet!" Scaratar smiled up at him. "That's so thoughtful of him to do!"
"It is." Loodvigg lightly chuckled. "But, my only question is why Humbug didn't send you one.
"What?"
"Well, Grumpyre, Humbug, and the other ethreals all live on the same island, right? Wouldn't of Grumpyre have thought to tell Humbug to write a note when they heard about the news."
Scaratar paused for a moment with a bit of shock, but it was completely logical. It made sense, but not why Humbug didn't write as well. "W-Well maybe he was busy and it slipped his mind! Or he wasn't home when Grumpyre wanted to tell him and forgot."
"Oh, he...Uh..." Kayna brought her hand to her neck nervously. Scaratar looks over to Kayna at her hesitation.
"What's up with Humbug?"
"He's...Um..."
"He's dead?!"
"No no no! Just...Ok, there's been a court case about many horrible acts as of recently, and they suspected it was either the most recent mythical, Buzzinga, or him. After the court case, they ruled him as the criminal, and he's been unable to contact the outside world.."
"W...Well how long will he be in the dungeon?" Scaratar looked at her desperately, hoping for a small time, but she knew by Kayna's expression it would be far too long.
"Um...More than ten years, I'm afraid..." Kayno finished for Kayna, as she was obviously unable to answer.
Scaratar looked down at the ground as Loodvigg held an arm around here. She was stunned. How would her son–the most gentle and shy monster after her–would be in prison for such a long time.More than ten years seemed like forever, and she couldn't believe he was framed for someone else's crime.
"But, we don't believe he was the one to do it. Nearly everyone who knew him even in passing conversation knew he would never do such a thing. We're going to hope the real culprit is caught, and we'll update you on whatever happens next." Kayno told them.Scaratar breathed in. "It's fine. I'll make it. I'm at least glad you told us."
"I'm sorry if I ruined the moment, Loodvigg." Kayna apologized.
"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll make it through." Loodvigg reassured her. "It's probably time for us to head back inside. We'll see you later."
"Be safe you two!" Kayna waved to them.
Scaratar and Loodvigg waved back gently, then turned to get back inside. Sooza also waved to Attmoz with a smile, and just a few moments later, the ship left to go back home.——
