~Air's POV~
I jumped down, landing quickly to dash out the door. I had been looking forward to getting a few little lessons from Attmoz since forever! Though Mom hadn't instituted that teaching style until a few ago, i was hoping i could learn from Attmoz!
Maybe, he could help me try and fly—i always wanted to fly properly. I seemed to dance to Mom's office door, opening it and stepping inside.
There, Attmoz was talking with Mom. Rare was just near them, crossing his arms and looking my direction. It took him a second to realize i was there, then he shook his head and waved me over. Rare was always kinder to him than Wubbox.
"Well, i think it's time we head on out then." Attmoz started to close the conversation."Alright. But, please be careful with Air, OK? He already hurt his eye very much, and i don't want anything else getting broken."
"I will do everything i can."
Attmoz turned back around, and the three of us left to go outside. Out there, a few other celestials were—and one monster i didn't recognize. Later i found out by asking was that he was "Humbug" and he had came to visit some family. We didn't go over and talk though, but he did come over before we left for the night and introduced himself to me and Rare.
It was kinda boring being taught about weather and him answering questions about life we had, so i won't specify what happened to much. And, we eventually did get around to the topic of me flying!
"So, do you think i would be able to fly one say?" I asked him."Hm. Well, by looking at your wings, you don't have the right structure. Usually, wings have feathers that line the whole limb, longer feathers at the very end and smaller feathers near the base of the wing. You only have three feather-like things at the end of your limb, and that would have you be unable to get any kind of traction off the ground. And, your wings are the same size as your body, when your wings should be about two or three times larger than you to fly; then again, we do have some monsters who have small wings and can fly, but considering your larger and heavier than most monsters, and a machine, you would need those requirements to even attempt at soaring."
"So..thats a no?"
"You can certainly well try, but you'd need someone with wings to teach you. No celestial has wings, even if i am the air element. But, if you really want try, you should start by trying to get off the ground with your wings regularly paced. Thats how we taught some of the flyers when they couldn't come to it naturally."
"Hm. So i could try, but it's not a guarantee?"
"Yes."
"Alrighty!"
Then Attmoz had let us stay outside for a bit alone, and while Rare was doing his thing, i got to try flying!
And.. lets say i got stuck on the roof and i had to have Attmoz get me down.. it was silly, but it was real fun! Thats pretty much how i can fly!~~
Wubbox closed the door behind him quietly and walked into the hallway carefully, making sure he wouldn't make a sound in the dead-silent hallway.
Not only was he unable to sleep, he felt uncomfortable in their room. When he tried to find a reason for it, nothing seemed to make sense. So, he decided to take a step outside, so maybe he could get his mind off it.
As he stepped outside into the crisp, night air, he noticed the moon glowing brightly in the sky pointing west as the sun would come back up in 5 hours. Not only the moon, but he saw Torrt and Syncopite talking near the moon. They noticed him once he stepped out and turned to look at him.
"Wubbox?" He heard Torrt's crackly voice call out to him."Yeah.. it's me.." He sighed.
"Why don't you come over here, then?"
Wubbox hesitated for a second, but walked forwards and took a seat next to them.
"Why are you out here so late, son?""I couldn't sleep."
"Was there anything on your mind?"
"I think so, but i don't know what it was. I couldn't find why, so maybe it's just me being weird."
"Do you think it could be about someone?"
"I just said-!"
Torrt cut him off by putting his hand upon his head.
"Shush. Just think about it. Maybe you just don't realize it."
He sighed, looking to the ground. He didn't actually think about it, just pretending so he could dodge the questions. Something about the darkness of night but the brightness of the moon and stars comforted him, yet made him scared. Both were strong, and felt like nothing could comfort him—not even himself.
"Have i ever told you about the stars?" Syncopite asked him."No..?" Wubbox replied and shook his head as Torrt lifted his claws off him and back to the stone floor, clicking them like rocks.
"Stars are like friends. They are all in order, connected, and sane. Every monster should strive to be like that. But, i can see you are not like that. You don't try to be like others. Your unique in a way i haven't seen before.""That doesn't mean anything. Every monster was made to be something and serve a purpose. I was supposed to be unique and be a helper to everyone. But it doesn't make sense, because i didn't turn out that way. Im defective if i can't be like that."
"No one was made for any reason, Wubbox. Just because you didn't fit a goal someone made for you doesn't mean your nothing."
"Then why was i made?"
"No reason. No one was made for anything. Just because a single tweedle or mammott exists doesn't mean they'll become a king. You were just made to exist, but it's your choice to do what you want with it."
"Choice is just a concept of reality. Truthfully, choice is not relative of what you can do, because you-"
"Wubbox, heed my advice when i say you talk to much. Those who run their mouth wind up dead, simply because they felt the need to voice everything wrong and right in their eyes. Your becoming a splitting image of your mother when you constantly ramble on." Syncopite interrupted him.
He grumbled angrily at the idea of being like his mother. He would never be like her ever.
"I know you want nothing to do with your mother, Wubbox. If you ever think of the idea, we will not be opposed to it.""You..want me to leave?"
"Not that we want to, but if you so chose to, we would not be there to stop that desire. You make your own choices, alright?"
