~In the past...~He yawned quietly, in the kitchen with his book as he tried to stay awake.
Every night when he would fall asleep, he would be cursed with the sight of the demon constantly. Large, horned skull. Seemingly endless spine. Thin arm bones. Red aura. Black eyes with white dots for pupils. He hated seeing him. He did anything to stay awake, but the others took notice, trying to convince him to sleep, but he would refuse every time.He wanted to tell them everything, how the demon taunts him, how the demon scares him, how he refused to sleep to never let that thing out. No one else would take a demon from his mind. It was unappetizing to anyone.
He yawned again, feeling weak as his body yearned to close its eyes and sleep. He wanted to fight it, with every bit he did, but it was too much.
"Just a moment.. It can't hurt.." He thought. One moment turned into deep sleep.
He walked through a strange, glowing red cave, the look of fresh blood and meat, but the feel of cold cobblestone. Eventually, he reached the middle of the maze, and saw where the red light was coming from.Monsters were dancing around, torches lit up as they yelped with joy.
He smiled as he felt just as happy as them. He walked over, and stood by a glowl.
"What's happening?" He asked the glowl."We're dancing for the king! He'll be here any moment, and he loves dancing with us!"
"The king?"
"Yes! He– There he is!" The glowl pointed to the side, and a great horned demon slithered from the ground, his familiar large horned skull and endless spine enveloped the ground ahead of him. He quickly moved back, but when he looked around, the monsters were now skeletons, as if the demon had absorbed their skin as he came through.
"Plixie.." he growled deeply. "You've held me long enough! I demand to be set free!""Never! I can't risk anyone else getting hurt because of me letting you out. You'd have to kill me before I consider letting you out."
The demon chuckled loudly. "Well, currently, you're sleepwalking."
"You're lying."
"Am i? Would you risk possibly walking off the island to your death? Who knows how close you are to the edge. Who knows where you've stumbled off to.."
"B-But i-if i die, you die too!"
"If you die, I will go to the closest being to you. You won't be of use, and you'll just be gone. Hell, what if I accidentally take one of the celestial's kids? What if I take your kid~?"
"N-No! Don't hurt him please!"
"Release me, and they'll be spared!"
"I-I don't know how!" Plixie held his head as he started to panic and look at the ground frantically.
"The key, Plixie."
He looked back up, the demon back in its cage once more, and the simple key at his feet.
The warmth of the torches surrounding the dark red room only made him tense. He wanted to have his kid be safe, but he didn't want to let him go and hurt someone else.
"Do it." The glowl skeleton spoke to him."Do it." A rare shellbeat hissed.
"Do it!" A theremind shouted.
"DO IT!" The tapricorn yelled at him.
Plixie growled, kicking the key up and throwing it to the demon ahead of him. The demon did not flinch, catching the kay mid-air as it stared at him with a grin. Plixie stood still for a moment, before starting to tear up.
"T'was a pleasure doing business with you~"He quickly jolted awake, catching himself and holding onto the wall before hitting the ground. He panted as he then looked around, seeing he was in the work office hallway, which led to the outside door and kitchen. He was right. He was sleep walking.
His wings fluttered as he sat on the ground, holding his head as he tried to breathe, scared of what might have happened to the demon. Maybe he disobeyed his wishes, and actually merged with a celestial or child. He noticed how close he was to the office door. Had he accidentally released it into the office, having it affect Galvana or Wubbox? He couldn't possibly live with himself if that was the case. He would have to wait until morning to see if it was true.
He could only close his eyes once more, sleeping once more in his weakened state. Maybe they would see him, and think he was crazy. But, he needed sleep. Maybe that would make them somewhat happy.
