[Chapter 45]

Bone, Berry, and Khep were in Bone's apartment. They had hung out all day, and they decided to crash at his place for the night. Bone was on the couch, and Berry clung to lay on top of him. Berry was very possessive of him, and though Bone was a bit uncomfortable with it, he didn't want Berry to feel bad about it, and Berry never actually hurt him, so there wasn't much of a reason to tell him to stop.

Khep was more of a third wheel to their hangout, but was still included. He had been in the psych ward for a while, and was granted a day to be let out of the psych ward by police, but he would have to go right back in the morning.

They were watching some random show on TV while sitting on the couch, but Khep was on the floor messing with Bone's phone. Eventually, Bone grew tired, and began to slightly doze off, but he caught himself before he went too deep into sleep.
The show kept playing, displaying a house renovation show that Berry was for some reason obsessed with.

Furcorn was the main seller-ish monster, who would show people homes that needed a lot of renovations, and they would fix it up. This episode's buyer was a Repatillo, and they were in Fire Haven. It wasn't too odd for them to go to different islands along the way, and they seemed to frequently visit islands that had been affected by the 'wildfires' and destroyed places that Humbug had ruined.

His attention was taken away from the boring show by the chiming of his phone. He sat up, but Berry didn't let go of him. Flipping over the phone screen, it was a call request from Earth. But why was he calling so late at night?
Berry looked down as well, and seeing the profile picture seemed to make him angry. "Who's that? Why is he calling you?"

"Please calm down, Berry. He's just an old friend and we haven't spoken in years. I'll answer the call and I'll come right back, ok?" Bone told him gently.

"You better.." Berry growled, his tail lashing to each side as he was clearly jealous and pissed.

Berry moved off of him, and Bone got up to go to the restroom just around the corner of the apartment. Once he stepped inside, the screen opened up, and the caller's screen was pointed up the ceiling where a fang spun around, though occasionally lagging.
"Hello? Earth?" Bone called out for him.

"Hey, Bone. How have you been?" Earth asked, his voice flat and showing no emotions. This made Bone nervous, as he wasn't ever completely serious with him. And why did Earth sound like Uuduk but without the reverberation?

"I-I've been alright. But why are you calling so late at night? All three of us were just about to go to sleep."

"It's serious." Earth said bluntly, causing Bone to feel a shiver run down his spine and through his tail, which flicked behind him. "It's been brought to my attention that you have written very suggestive works of fiction about me and you. Now I have not read them, but the summaries I've heard are clear enough to understand."

Bone's head leaves trembled slightly in response, and he could feel his face warming with embarrassment. "I-I never wrote that kind of thing!! I-I wouldn't do that because I know you wouldn't like that kind of thing. W-Why would I ever write that?" Bone tried to plead his innocence.

"Chapter one, how we met." Earth recited. "I was in my home, where I was texting my good friend Earth. We talked about many things, and he could even make me laugh. We had planned to meet up on bone island because of how interesting he thought it was. And I had waited just outside the portal for him. Once he stepped onto bone island, I greeted him and began to show him around. I could sense through the whole thing he was wanting something else from our interaction. I wanted it too, but i wouldn't want to make him uncomfortable with speaking about that out loud. That was until we got to my house, where he didn't hesitate to-"
