Fire sat in the silent, white waiting room of the mental-health clinic. He was used to coming here, as he had been for a long time. Well, at least Wubbox began declining, because he knew he couldn't just keep what was happening inside. He had to find some way to help Wubbox, especially because he refused to get help himself.
He'd been coming here for about five years–more or less because of the celestial's deaths, his boxing, and the whole war situation. He started going around three years into his and Wubbox's relationship, when Wubbox began to distance himself and become a lone-stogg. The first year Wubbox was still stuck on Celestial Island, the second Wubbox stayed with Fire so he could get used to life outside. Then, he only got to see him in visits after that, and Wubbox began to decline even more with each visit. They seemed happy, Fire would try to keep Wubbox with him for more than one night, to try and make him feel better, or some semblance of what they used to be, but Wubbox never truly reciprocated it back. Whenever Fire would try to talk to Wubbox about his problems, Wubbox would get angry, and even furious if Fire even tried to suggest getting professional help. Fire knew he was much stronger than Wubbox, and could easily talk down to him and force him to get help, but he never did. He might be able to fight Earth and win physically, but trying to get Wubbox to talk to someone about his problems was like trying to swim. He just couldn't. He only wanted Wubbox to get better, yet he seemed more and more like a lost cause. He pained him to see Wubbox like this, but there was nothing he could do.
"Fire Haven." The receptionist called out his name, taking his thoughts away from his phone. "Swayskull is ready to see you.""Oh, thank you!" Fire smiled, putting his phone away, standing up, and walking out into the halls of the building. He knew his way around to Swayskull's office, because he had been coming for a long time.
He turned around a corner, then to the farthest door down the hall. The door had a picture of Swayskull right next to the door, showing his cyan and blue body, sharp, grey jaw, black wings with metallic thrusters, and a single-eyed goggle over his sharp, blue eye.
Fire gently took hold of the door-handle, turning it down, and stepping in cautiously.
"Hello, Fire!" Swayskull greeted him, his wings gently flicking."Hey." Fire waved back with a sheepish smile, stepping inside with his dark grey form.
"Are you and Wubbox in Anaphase yet?" Swayskull asked with a chuckle, watching as Fire walked in, and took a seat in a nearby chair.
Fire sighed. "No.."
"As usual." Swayskull shook his head.
"I know, but I might actually have some good news!..Even if the story is a bit bad.."
"Well, tell me what happened." Swayskull encouraged, turning to him with a smile.
"Alright..." Fire took a deep breath. "So, me and Wubbox had met up recently, well, twice, the first one being Beat-Hereafter on Bone island, but he wasn't totally up for it. At least he was able to get out. But more recently, we were at my place, kind of like a date, but I'm not sure what counts as a date.. Anyways, he was talking, but I noticed scratches on his arms, but when I tried to ask about them, he got defensive. I once again tried to tell him to talk to someone, but He blew up on me. He says that since I critique him all the time and try to change him, that I don't want him the way he is, and how I'm only with him to try and make him a perfect puppet I can use for anything. I-I tried to reassure him that's not what's happening, but Wubbox refused to hear it. So once he's calmed down, I walk over, and hug him gently–Just trying to comfort him. Wubbox tried to move away at first, but he eventually stopped struggling. I once again suggest a therapist, and He starts getting angry again. I explain I don't want to change him forever because he's bad, but that I want him to feel better, and not have to rely on me for everything under the sun. I know Wubbox still doesn't want to, but I told him he will go at least one time, if never again. We planned it to happen in a few days when he doesn't have work, and I'll be going with him to try and make him a bit more comfortable with this. I..really hope this will be a turning point for him, because I hate to see him like this.."
Swayskull looked a bit surprised, his eyes opened more than before. But, he shook his head, looking back with sincerity. "Well, I'm very surprised you managed to convince him to do so, I never would have suspected he would agree at all! But, you will have to make sure he doesn't coward out at the last second, because he did likely make that agreement from the spur of the moment."
"I know, I've been reminding him when I can, so he won't forget or try to get out by not telling me."
"That's great, and along the way, I would suggest you should be giving him positive affirmations so he doesn't feel alone in this. He should feel safe and heard, not like he's being forced to change himself like he tells himself."
"I will, and I have been doing that. I don't want him to be overwhelmed, because like me, he gets overwhelmed pretty easily, if it is because of different reasons. He's more sensitive to loud noises, touching, and talking to strangers."
"What about his kids? Are they doing alright?"
"He didn't mention them at all. I did try to ask, but he wouldn't answer me when I did. I assume they're ok, but I haven't been able to send a message to Rooloo, because it says I was blocked, and there's no way for us to talk at all anymore so I could know what's going on."
"Well you should try to ask Wubbox if he knows anything, because he seems to be treating his children like he was treated by Galvana."
"I'm going to ask him when I see him next. I really hope those kids are ok, because they don't deserve what they are and have been going through."
