~With Plant~Plant stepped onto the grass, and turned to wave at the ship before rushing off into the forest. Here, he felt free and of no judgment as he ran around the trees. But as he walked to what he thought would be the entrance to town, he instead saw an empty, abandoned plane with no other monsters or buildings. But, there was something that looked like his tree house. He also noticed that the nests of the vibrant green critters were now a darker purple, yet still the same shape and lifestyles.
He walked over to one of the many nets which littered the land. "Hey buddy!" Plant smiled at one. The bird walked over him, and gave him a gentle inspection, but then it suddenly cawed and flapped its wings angrily.
Plant stepped back from it, then the bird stopped. He decided to leave the birds alone, and began his pursuit of the tree house. It looked mostly like his, no changes except it had no circle-window on the side like he had.
Two green eyes pierced from the darkness of the inside, and though it was some type of cloudy day-time, it was pitch black inside, as if it was waiting for him. "Hello?" Plant called out to the eyes.
The eyes then closed, and quickly it jumped from the window, dashing to plant with such speed he had never seen before. He only had a second to see it before he turned to run away from it. From what he could see, it was mostly like him, but it had many more adornments on its body.
It had more leaves, plants, and other similar things on its branch-horns. It has some kind of bush like fur around its neck and arms, as if it had grown on him. Some tan-furred clothing covered his chest, yet its ribs were still clearly visible. It had one fang from its lower jaw protruding from its face like a hog, and it only served for show.
Plant quickly dashed through the trees once more, jumping over logs and stones until he was sure he was far enough away. He quickly took a sharp turn, and grabbed onto a large tree branch ahead of him, and scaled the tree quickly. Maybe it would have lost him and left him alone?
As the other quickly rounded the corner as well, it turned its head up to look at him. It knew he was up here.
It stepped back a few steps, and rushed to him with relentless fury.Plant quickly turned to jump back down to escape, and did for just a moment before being caught by his rib, and thrown down. As he hit the ground, sharp, engulfing pain shot through him. He hadn't been thrown that hard, but it must have grabbed him wrong, and snapped one of his ribs; he said it wouldn't ever be broken, yet only himself could have the strength to do so.
Plant quickly turned to his side as he couldn't help but cry out with the intense and agonizing pain it brought him, served scolding and suddenly. It did not attack him further, instead looking at him with a confused look, as if it didn't understand his pain and the sound escaping his mouth.
After a while, Plant was left on the ground as the pain had slowly subsided. He turned his head to see the other standing still, now looking away from him as if waiting for him to calm down before continuing to attack him.
He took that moment of brief stillness to continue observing it.Now that they were close, he could see that it was larger than him, it had paws instead of hands, it had large leaf like appendages similar to critter ears, it didn't have a waist piece like the other wubbox, and the skin-coat still hung low, and one piece wrapped around his lower half, almost like gentle quilt.
Plant looked down once more at his broken rib, then back at the other. He quickly got back onto his feet, and stood for just a moment before it looked at him. He quickly ran off, back into the forest, and he knew full well that it would follow.
He remembers he was given a fishnet, like one from a boat, and a very tiny dagger to help himself in the fight.
He didn't know why he had gotten a net, as plant island barely had any bodies of water, but he had an idea now. He had taken a class of wildness survival with a few other monsters when he was invited to a small class for younger monsters on faerie island. He learned how to make a trap that, when touched, would snap back in place, then if that failed, he could use the dagger. But, it would be impossible for him to set up a trap in such a short amount of time without being caught and attacked. He would have to find a place far enough away from the tree house so the other could not follow him, and he could build it, then lure it back.
He ran for as long as he could, and eventually, he started walking further away as it was not following him any more. He took a stop by a large tree, and started gathering a few large sticks.
He used the tiny dagger to carve the sticks into just the right shape for the trap. He used a thin branch as a trigger for the trap, and he was able to get it fastened together. He looked up at the dimly lit sky, and wondered if he should take the chance and lure it now.
It shouldn't take too long to get it lured back into the trap. He got up, and began to remember certain things, or leave marks to remember his way back.Eventually, he saw it again. It was sitting with a few birds around him, but when he tried to pet or reach out to one, it would get angry and yell at him, then fly away. Maybe these birds had something going on to become more aggressive. Was there perhaps a shortage in food for them to get, or was there a sickness going around that would infect and kill them?
Plant accidentally stepped forward, making a bush ahead of his screech with its leaves, and made the other quickly turn and look at him. Plant waited for it to get up and began running to him again, and he ran ahead of it. He quickly took turns around the forest, occasionally looking back to see the other behind him, still in hot pursuit.
He took one more turn to his right, but was tackled to the ground by the other. It moved quickly, taking its large claws and raking them along his cheek and lip. As it looked down at his core, he took the momentary distraction to flip it over to the ground beside him, and as he ran off, he took it's core with him. It grew more furious, and quickly rolled back over and ran after him once more.
He knew he couldn't outrun it now, so he decided to take the risk, stopping dead in his tracks, and quickly threw it under hand to the trap as if he were bowling, then quickly being thrown back to the ground. The other snarled before looking forward for a split second, and quickly standing to run after it, but the trap snapped harshly.
Plant looked up with shock as he saw what happened. He must have set the trap wrong, as instead of it lifting the net into the tree, it violently snapped shut, and quickly lacerated the core, leaving it bleeding and marked with the fishnet pattern. The other had grasped its chest, gasping for air as he knew it felt tremendous pain.
It quickly fell over, and though he thought it would crumple back into a box form, it hadn't, lying lifeless on the cold, rain dropped grass. He was speechless. Had he actually committed murder? But it was an accident! He...Didn't mean to.
He started to feel his eyes grow hot, and tears started to lightly flow. He couldn't believe that his mistake actually killed something, something was more similar to him than anyone else likely would be.
What if they were like exact copies, and liked the same things? Now he would never know what it would be like to be with someone exactly like him. What would the others think of him? He was worse than a creature. A bastard.
He laid on his side for a moment as he tried to breathe and calm himself, but it was killing that he had actually killed another. He didn't even seem to realize he had suddenly been teleported back to magical sanctum, instead just laying and crying.
The pain which once accompanied him grew back, and more harsh in his feelings. Something more than a hug could fix this.
