Fifty-Eight

Jin's eyes filled with a hint of dread as he observed his classmates, one by one, easily inclining their heads in a subtle gesture of respect towards Taehyung. As he arrived at their designated meeting point after checking into their hotel, he couldn't help but notice the immediate shift in everyone's attention. He had hoped that their reaction to Taehyung joining them on the trip would have been different, but ultimately, it was not.

He knew that many of them were interested in getting to know Taehyung because of his status and ownership of the company. Some of them were even hoping for a future job opportunity. However, he didn't want their trip to revolve around that. He was excited for the opportunity to try something new and fun, as he had never experienced anything like it before. He was particularly curious about how enjoyable it could be, especially with the presence of Taehyung and others.

"Mr. Kim, it's so great to meet you-"

"It's Taehyung." Taehyung swiftly interrupted one of the individuals who approached him, skillfully cutting them off mid-conversation. He then extended his hand, engaging in a firm handshake.

Jin noticed a particular expression on his classmate Kevin's face and promptly intervened, saying, "Taehyung prefers to be addressed by his first name. Being called Mr. Kim, he finds it too formal for his liking." Jin spoke with a smile on his face.

As Taehyung's arms enveloped him and drew him closer, pressing his back against Taehyung's chest, he took a deep breath and remained still.

"My Seokjin knows me best. So, what's your name?" Taehyung inquired, his gaze fixed on the individual before him.

"Kevin. Seokjin and I have a close friendship. I'm certain you've heard of me."

Taehyung raised an eyebrow and replied, "Actually, I haven't."

"Oh," Kevin said, his expression betraying a hint of surprise.

Jin sighed.

"Now that we have clarified that, would you mind sharing some information about yourself? Are you currently married? Are you here by yourself?"

Jin rolled his eyes.

As Kevin started to unwind and answer Taehyung's queries, he propped himself up on the closest post that was located behind him and rested against it. "I have a wife, and we are together. She loves to meet new people and is now talking to anybody she can find since she is quite outgoing. Because she gave birth to our daughter just six months ago, I have no doubt that she proudly shows off her baby photographs to everyone while making the most of her time without a kid.

That's similar to how Seokjin and I developed a friendship, too. When my wife, who was my girlfriend at the time, became pregnant, I experienced a sense of panic. This feeling intensified one day while we were working on a project together. Seokjin observed that I seemed different and asked about it.

I told him about the situation, and he gave me valuable advice. I was so impressed by his dedication to school and the projects we worked on together that I had completely forgotten he had children of his own. It made me admire him even more. His advice provided me with motivation, which led me to take bold steps and fully dedicate myself to my wife and our baby.

Even now, he continues to provide us with many helpful tips that we still apply when raising our daughter. I'm sure you're aware that you have a wonderful husband." Kevin spoke with a smile on his face.
