"What happened to your hand?" Was the first thing Connie had said when she saw him.
"You didn't even look at my hand." Star growled.
"Call me omniscient, then." She sat next to him. "Where is Diamond?"
"Somewhere being creepy."
"Star," She warned.
"In the bedroom."
She lightly knocked on the door and it opened a bit. "Diamond?"
He was at the computer watching a boxing match. He didn't acknowledge her until she shut it off.
"You got in a fight?"
He looked away and nodded. "Yes. No."
"No?" She raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't hit him back." Diamonds fist clenched. "I wanted to."
Connie stepped back and he stood, headed for the door. She followed him to the living room where Star was drinking water with his left hand.
Diamond extended his hand and Star begrudgingly places his on it. He pulled him up and they stared at each other.
Star looked tired and resigned. Diamond looked back blankly.
It was strange to see them face to face, as they often avoided doing it.
Diamond kissed his hand and it healed. "You need to eat."
"Fine."
They parted ways, Star going to pick up Connie bridal style and Diamond pulling ingredients out of the cupboard.
