Connie couldn't hold it back anymore.
She let her groan and her last bit of sanity find its way out of her body and banged her head on the table.
Her golden retriever and pitbull boyfriends were by her side in an instant: Diamond putting away her materials and Star giving bunny kisses to her cheek.
"I'm so sleep deprived I can smell... colors," She told them.
"What does chartreuse smell like?" Star asked with a woeful smile.
"Burnt tires."
"What about pink?" Diamond raised an eyebrow curiously.
"Burnt toast." Star cackled and Diamond rolled his eyes.
"Does everythi–?"
"Yes. Everything smells like burnt... things," She grumped. If she wasn't so dehydrated she would have started crying, but she sniffled a few times as the exhaustion took over. "Take me home, I hate it here." She knew she was being pitiful but she didn't care. "I just want to snuggle with my two boyfriends and die peacefully."
"You are home. This is our home," Diamond reminded her. "You're not going to your parents house like this."
Connie peered up at him and grinned. "What you don't wanna explain to my mom again about..." She trailed off and stared at the fridge, her train of thought shuddering and then completely derailing itself.
Star sighed and held out his hand to Diamond who was already reaching for it. "Shall we?"
"Everything smells like burnt things," She mumbled again.
"I think that burnt smell you're getting is from your brain. Come on, Ni. Let's take a nap." Steven picked her up and headed for their bedroom.
