Star woke out of a sound sleep and stared up at the glowing ceiling. Diamond had miraculously fallen asleep tonight, so he was completely alone with his thoughts.

He let them wander freely, trying to hopefully fall back asleep but the more he thought, the more things came and soon his mind was crowded with so many things he didn't know where to start.

Today had been a busy day with cleaning and adhering to Connie's neurotic need to reorganize on a whim. Their living room was in complete disorder because she'd fallen asleep on the couch in the middle of them moving it.

It was an hour before he settled on a tangible thought. The clock read 3:52am when he whispered,

"If humans ever cure dying of old age, we'll all die pretty terrible deaths."

It was silent for a minute before Connie groaned. "Shiva, Star. What the hell? It's so early in the morning, I cannot be thinking about that right now."
