"Connie, come here," Steven pleaded.

She closed her book and walked over to Roses room. "What's up, are you okay?"

"No, I'm very much not okay. I'm trying not to split but I need your help."

He walked back into the room and she followed close behind, the soft pink clouds feeling very incorrect for the tone. "How can I help you, Steven?"

"Sit on my back."

She recoiled and clutched her book to her chest. "Wh-what?"

"Sit. On my back." He repeated slowly.

She furrowed her brow as he laid down on his stomach. "Okay." She sat right in the middle of his back. "Is this helping?"

"No, not yet." He pushed himself up and glanced back. "Comfortable?"

"Are you doing pushups?" She asked incredulously.

"My therapist said to try exercising when I start to feel stressed. Cross your legs. I needed more resistance." He lowered himself again and nodded. "That'll do it. Just read your book, I'm not even here."

She reopened her book with a bashful grin. This was so weird, and not like her Steven at all. She wondered if Diamond was pushing for it, and Star just wanted to be close. It made her giggle under her breath and she rose and fell with him.
