Now, Steven wasn't usually on the end of a real scolding from Connie. She was often understanding and sweet, even when she didn't like what he was doing.

"How did you not drink water for so long that you passed out?!" She seethed.

"I dunno. Star forgets and Diamonds an asshole. I'm also forgetful." He realized trying to pin it on his other halves was not intelligent when she grumbled.

"Water is so so so important! You can die without water! Is that what you want?"

"I mean–,"

"Steven Quartz Cutie Pie De Mayo Diamond Universe!" She exclaimed angrily. "Not funny!" She crossed her arms and now he could see her irritation at full force. That spot between her eyebrows creased only when she was seriously upset.

He snickered anyways and she got even madder. "Wait, before you say anything..." He rushed to the bedroom and grabbed a blanket.

"What is your problem?! I am actually mad at you right now!"

Steven approached his furious girlfriend slowly and draped the blanket over her back, tying it around her neck gently. "There..."

Past her anger, she was baffled and tugged at it. "What– what is this? Why am I wearing a cape?"

Steven blew out a slow breath and whispered, "Now you're super mad."

When she started to blink and scoff and growl he backed out of range slowly. "Are you fucking kidding me right now?"

He shook his head, trying to hold back nervous laughter. This would either work, or she'd kill him on the spot. "No, I am not."

She froze for a moment, reaching up to touch the blanket. Then she giggled until it had turned into full blown laughter and she was bent over.

"Oh my stars, thank goodness. I thought we'd have to split to avoid getting beaten up." He placed a hand over his heart.

"Okay, just because you're funny, doesn't mean you're off the hook. Drink some fucking water." She pointed to the fridge.

"Yes, Ma'am."
