"Crud, I knew I should've gone before we left," Connie groaned.
"Actually, I have to go too." Star sighed and stood up.
Diamond didn't say anything, but nodded.
Humans took bathroom breaks constantly. He found it tedious and ridiculous that their bodies didn't use everything that was given to them. It was an inefficient way to build something.
He was keenly aware of the eyes on him, and despite its discomfort he tried not to let it bother him. He was inhuman, entirely different from the others here. He spotted a few gems far from him, but he was different from them too.
He was different from everybody, even the other Diamonds. He had just enough of Steven to not quite fit there either.
He was entirely new.
"I see your friends left for the bathroom, I'll wait for them to come back and grab a refill."
His eyes turned to the waiter and he shook his head. "No, I have their orders."
They came rushing back just as the waiter left and sighed.
"Dammit, we just missed him." Star groaned. "I'm so hungry."
"You're growing again." Connie touched the back of his neck and he winced. "It's all that testosterone surging through you."
"I already ordered for you." Diamond carefully unfolded a silverware bunch.
They exchanged a look and Connie shrugged. "I guess that's better than waiting another ten minutes."
"Speak for yourself, he probably ordered a plate of pollen and knives for me." Star crossed his arms grimly.
"Uh oh, he's smiling." Connie reached over and traced Diamonds lips. He hadn't even realized he was doing it.
Star scoffed. "I'm right then, he's trying to kill me."
When their food was set in front of them, they both stared down at it.
"How did you know?" Connie asked incredulously.
"You ordered my favorite." Stars gaze locked with his other half's. "You ordered both of our favorites."
Diamond dropped his eyes bashfully. "I know all of your orders. For everywhere we go."
