"You go get him to stop. Definitely not fighting that fight again."
Connie raised an eyebrow at Diamond as he plopped down next to her. "I'm sorry?"
"He's doing it again."
She groaned and scrambled up to their room, where Star was gladly eating tiny spoonfuls of flour on their bed. "Oh my stars what the hell!"
He gave her an innocent, wide eyed look. "It's not that big of a deal."
"It so is!" She tugged the flour out of his hands and unfortunately, sneezed.
White powder filled the air as both parties held their breath for as long as possible.
"I like flour, Connie."
"YOU CANT EAT RAW FLOUR, STAR!" Connie sat it down and frowned at him. "We're taking you in."
"Noooo... please don't take me to the doctor! I just want to eat my flour in peace!" He cried and flopped down onto the bed in a sulk strong enough to curdle milk.
Her mother was there in around 12 minutes.
"Star?"
He crossed his arms and glared, sitting up and facing her to be respectful. "Dr. Mahaswaren."
"It's called Pica." She cut straight to the point, and sat next to him along with Connie. Diamond leaned against the wall on his side of the bed radiating a protectiveness Connie hadn't seen in a long while. "It can also be a developmental disorder or OCD, but I think Pica fits your mental health history."
Star was positively humiliated. "So there's more things wrong with me?"
"Not wrong. Different." Dr. Mahaswaren stood and pointed her pen at him. "You're lucky you haven't gotten e. coli or food poisoning. We'll do a blood test when you're in a better mindset and we'll figure out if you're vitamin deficient."
Star and Diamond glanced at each other.
"Stop being stubborn." Diamond pleaded softly.
Star grimaced. "I just want to be able to enjoy something without it being wrong."
"Not wrong," Connie reminded him. "Different. But a different we need to stop so my sweet golden retriever boyfriend doesn't get really sick."
"But Diamond could–,"
"No."
"Right. I'll think about it."
