Chapter 5 - Your nothing

Esme's POV

I'm on my way to work when I get stopped by Adeline. I can't deal with her right now my heart heavy to listen to her whining about something.

"Oh, poor Esme. Dylan rejected you because he didn't want you so you try to make him jealous by showing up to work with a smile on your face"

I turn around waiting for her to carry on but she doesn't, she's stood there trying to make me break. It's working but I certainly won't allow her to see that. Dylan's walking towards the door and I kindly ask her to move.

"If you don't mind Adeline I have work to do"

"I do mind. And it's Luna to you"

Alpha Dylan approaches us and glares daggers my way like I have done something wrong. What could I have possibly done to him this time?

"I told you not to come into work tonight it's for guests and work members." He says so coldly.

"I am working," I tell him while looking at the floor. "It's only 4:45 alpha I said I would work until 7. Elisa told me she didn't want me slacking so I won't. I will stay out of your way I promise"

"You better bitch" Adeline says which makes me feel more nervous.

I'm on pots duty tonight and I've already had a beating from some of the maids. Charlotte's the worst when she fights because she sure can fight and I'm as weak as anything so her kicks to the stomach and the punches to my face hurts like a bitch.

"Why are you hitting me? I have never done anything to you" I ask pleading for her to stop which angers her more because she throws another kick to my ribs and I am certain I hear a crack. Alana is too weak to help me heal It's going to take a long as I'm weak in energy as it is and she can't heal me when she is also weak. She has her claws out and is growling at me. I haven't shifted yet so I am not able to emerge from human to wolf form yet so I am to take every scratch and beating that comes my way.

"You exist. That's enough to make anyone want you gone. Maybe someone will take you and finish off the job easily"

After a few minutes, I stumble to the ground taking a whole load of plates with me and glasses. they smash all over the floor leaving me lying on piles and piles of glass. The shards have sliced my hands and my legs open and I hear voices behind me and I already know that this isn't the end of my torment tonight.

"WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE" Elisa's voice booms through the kitchen.

I'm too embarrassed to look at her and all I can do is apologise.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to break them I just lost my footing"

"Yeah. She lost her footing the clumsy mutt"

I start growling without realising I am doing it and I hear Alpha Dylan's voice. Even though he rejected me I can still smell his faint smell.

"What's all this shouting for? we have guests here and what is she doing on the fucking floor"

"I'm sorry Alpha" Elisa starts speaking. "I heard a commotion and I rushed in thinking someone was hurt and I saw Esme on the floor with my brand new pots smashed beside her.

"Clean it up mutt and get out. I don't want to see you here tonight. And if I ever hear you have been disrespecting my staff I'll not hold back on any torment I choose to give. Is that clear?"
