Chapter 22 - Announcement

Dylan's POV

It's been over a week since I tried to get Esme and Finley back to our pack. Alpha Jaxon Hayes won't have any of it and since then, my mother won't even speak to me.

"Baby we need to discuss my Luna ceremony" Adeline says while approaching my desk. She's good for one thing right now and it's a good fuck! There are no feelings on my side of the story but she's obsessed with becoming Luna.

"Why are you so determined to become Luna Adeline" I ask without showing a care of my annoyance.

"Oh baby don't be like that. We have spoken about it"

"No. you spoke about it. I listened to you go on and on about it for days. "

Sometimes she just needs a kick up her arse for her to get the message.

"Fine. Well, some mail came for you this morning" she mentions with a huff and then proceeds to sit down in the chair opposite my desk.

I opened the mail which is an invitation and an announcement for Alpha Jaxon's Luna ceremony 2 Saturdays from yesterday. Apparently, we are invited with us having a treaty with him and all opposing packs are welcome. It can hold up to 750 guests in the indoor part and 850 in the outdoors part.

"What is it" Adeline's nosiness asks.

"It's an invitation to Alpha Jaxon's residence for his Luna ceremony in 13 days.

"See. He quite clearly wants his Mate to be seen and noticed. I bet she's absolutely beautiful to be mated with him"

"Adeline get out."

"But we haven't dis..."

"I SAID GET OUT!!" I shout not giving her any time to finish the sentence that I have heard nonstop.

The invitation states that I must phone to give them our decision by 12 noon today. It's already 11 so I waste no time picking up the phone and dialling Midnight Packs number, after speaking to some woman she tells me that she will put me on hold and direct me to the Alpha himself and then she put me on hold...

She put me...me...on hold. How dare they I mutter to myself.

"Good afternoon Alpha Langley. I've heard you wanted to speak with me" Alpha Jaxon says.

"Hello alpha, yes I would like to inform you that we will be attending your ceremony on Saturday. If it's okay with you could I bring Esme's and Finley's mother and father along with me and my mate and family?"

"On one condition," he says to me.

"You all stick to each other and no one causes a scene. If I find out that you have caused a scene you will be escorted off my premises Alpha Langley. Do I make myself clear?"

"You do Alpha. There will be no issues on our end I'll make sure of it"

This is my ticket to getting them both back here!! The mission is now on to get them back here.

Jaxons POV

"I love it when you go all alpha you know" Esme says.

"Oh, do you now. Well, I know where I can go all alpha" I said with a hint of amusement in my voice.

"Can you two do that in your rooms? I need to speak to you both" my dad and mom laugh as they enter the office.

Esme is quick to apologise which makes them both laugh. They know she isn't usually like this.

"Oh honey don't worry. Jacobs just doing what he thinks is funniest which it isn't" my mom says while laughing at my dad.

"What's up anyway Dad?"

"As you are aware Esme's Luna ceremony is been held in just under 2 weeks and her family wants to show up to see them, they don't know that it's Esme who is your mate and soon-to-be Luna" my dad says while smiling widely towards Esme who is smiling back. "Do they?"

"They don't and right now it's for the best" Jax says while gripping my waist tightly. Probably to keep himself from getting annoyed at hearing their names. but the truth was...Thomas isn't our father. I knew this when they threw us both out and then he proceeded to tell me in front of everyone else that my mother cheated on him before they mated because he was away for business a lot... but that's what he said.

"We just want to make sure that you are okay with it sweetheart" my mom says.

"I'm okay now. I'll be nervous to see them on the day I think but I'll be okay. I've got Jaxon here with me"

" But right now I promised to show Finn something. Well you already know but he doesn't yet so I will leave you all be and I'll talk to you later" she says as she gets on me. I instantly hate the feeling of her walking away and Blaze is whining to pull her back but I don't.

'Not right now blaze. She needs to do this. She's doing well '

"Mom, you speak to her more than anyone else here has she said anything recently?" I ask with curiosity and worry on my face.

"About what Darling"

"I don't know she's just a little bit more emotional at the moment and I don't know if it's because of the ceremony or Her family and old alpha who beat the shit out of her daily is coming or what"

I notice my mom's sudden change in mood and even my father who's never normally fussed about stuff stiffens as soon as I say that.

"I honestly didn't think of that. Talk to her, she's more than likely going to open up about it to you. But don't forget though Jax sweetheart, that she was put through hell at that pack and she has only just recovered physically. The emotional part may never leave her but she's doing so much better from what I could see now" my mom says with a smile on her face.

" Son, she's got the protection of hundreds of warriors who will be on call that night, she has you and Finley here too and me and your mom. You know we love her too"

"Thank you, Dad. I guess everyone already loves her and is happy about having a Luna here since I've been Alpha"

After they leave I have 5 minutes before I ask Charlie and a hunter if they fancy going for a run. Kyle and Tony are in today so they are able to hold phone calls and no paperwork needs to be done now. I told Esme we didn't have to work today and here I am...working.

"Right boys....let's do this. Kody could really do with a run" says Hunter. Kody is his wolf and has been going crazy apparently because he hasn't been able to let loose and run free of everything.

"Charlie...you in?"

"Yeah, man. It's been a while since we did this. How's Luna?"

See...they all care about her. They all love her already and I'm one lucky bastard that's for sure.
