chapter 70 - Finley's announcement

Esme's POV

I've always been the kind of person who loves surprises, but nothing could have prepared me for the one my brother planning our annual charity event when Finley, asked for everyone close to him to gather in the boardroom.

that meant, Me, Jaxon his family, My dad and his side of thee family and some of Naomi's as well. I have never met Naomi's family. Finley said they are nice but terrifying which is why she doesn't have a lot to do with them. They gave her up when she was just a baby but then when she turned 18 she found them and they began talking again but she doesn't class them as her family, this is her family, her people that she loves.

"Why does he want everyone here?" I wondered, as I made my way to the boardroom with Robyn who only shrugged and said "I'm sure we will all find out shortly. The room was filled with our closest friends and family, all of whom were equally curious about the reason for this gathering.

As I entered the room, I noticed a warm, inviting smile on his face. It was a smile that told me this wasn't going to be bad news. In fact, it was the kind of smile that made me feel like something wonderful was about to happen. Hopefully anyway.

Finns stood at the front of the room, his arm wrapped around Naomi's waist. Naomi, my hopefully soon to be sister-in-law, was the kind of woman who could light up any room with her infectious laughter and radiant smile. They made a beautiful couple, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for my brother. He, too has been through so much and my heart goes out to the man he has become.

"Hi guys, thank you for coming. it isn't going to take long and I know Jaxon and Charlie have to go out but their my family as well but...I have some news to share with all of you," Finley began, his voice filled with excitement. "And I couldn't think of a better way to share it than with all of you here."

He paused for a moment, allowing the anticipation to build. Then, he turned to Naomi, who was holding their son, Zach, in her arms.

"Naomi and I are expecting another baby, she is 3 weeks along and will be due in just under 9 weeks" he announced, his voice filled with joy.

The room erupted in cheers and applause, as everyone rushed to congratulate the happy couple. My dad was the first to reach them, his eyes filled with tears as he embraced his son.

"Congratulations son, this is amazing news! I am glad you have allowed me and the family to be here when you told everyone! This is such great news!" our dad says as he steps back from Finley and embraces Naomi as well.

"I'm going to be a grandpa again!" Jacob chokes out, his voice filled with emotion. Even though Jacob and Finley aren't related by any means, Jacob has also been that father figure that we both needed and will also be grandad to his children. It was all Finns Idea as well which was nice.

"Finnnnn...." I all but cried out. I was so happy for him and Naomi, proud even.

I felt a wave of happiness wash over me as I hugged my brother and sister-in-law. I couldn't wait to meet the newest addition to our family, and I knew that Zach was going to be the best big brother.

As the celebration continued for the next half an hour, I couldn't help but think about how much my brother and Naomi had been through to get to this point. They had faced their fair share of challenges, but they had always faced them together, with love and determination and not everyone knew of theirs either. I knew a few but everyone knew mine because I am the Luna to this pack so they needed to understand sort of.
The weeks passed, and Naomi's pregnancy progressed smoothly. We all eagerly awaited the arrival of the new baby, and Mark and Naomi were more in love than ever.

As I was helping my brother prepare for things ready for when baby Jr Finley arrived, he turned to me with a serious expression on his face.

"I need to tell you something, well I need to more or less ask you something" he said, his voice filled with emotion. "Naomi and I have been talking, and we've decided that we want you to be the godmother to our new baby." I felt my heart explode with pride I mean...I know what this entails of...if anything ever happens to them two I am the prime carer for their children. I get it.

I was speechless. I had never expected to be given such an honour, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude.

'Of course, I'd be honoured,' I said, my voice filled with emotion. I couldn't help but get upset over it all and I had a feeling it was going to be an emotional journey for him too. Since coming here he has become a big person, the size he should have been to begin with but now that he trains and is a trainer alongside tony he enjoys what he does. 

 I watched as Naomi's radiant glow illuminated the room. The news of her pregnancy had filled me with an overwhelming sense of joy and anticipation. I knew that everything would be smooth sailing, for I had the privilege of being her friend and we leant on each other sometimes when we needed to.

Finley, a man of unwavering devotion, was determined to provide Naomi with the utmost comfort and ease during this journey once again and I had no doubt that she would snap at him again when he becomes over bearing. He tirelessly tended to her every need, from preparing her favourite meals to massaging her aching feet and now that she was pregnant again he was sure to do all of that again if not more. His presence was a constant source of reassurance, a beacon of love that guided her through the uncharted waters of parenthood.

As the days turned into weeks, Naomi's belly swelled with the life of her little girl growing inside of her. She blossomed into an even more radiant woman, cranky and would often snap if she was hungry or uncomfortable but still...her spirit filled with a quiet confidence. Finley's eyes sparkled with a mixture of awe and anticipation as he watched his mate boss people around and it was something to laugh with because the poor man didn't know what else to do. We started seeing a lot of Rosie and Jessica as well and they're excited to witness this as well.
