Rejected by one Alpha, Loved by another

Chapter 16 - Bonding

Esme's POV

He's standing there with his hands at his sides waiting for me to either accept or reject him. My heart and head know exactly what it's going to do but I wanted to keep him waiting a moment longer just to see if he's serious.

I can hear everyone at the door which means his heart must be beating loudly for him to not know that they're there.

I start by looking at him in the eyes and I can see many emotions in his eyes.

"I, Esme west of the waterside pack, soon to be mid-night Pack. Accept you, Alpha Jaxon from the midnight pack to be Your Mate and your Luna"

His face lights up like he's just Won a toy at the carnival and I can't help but smile at him. He doesn't move but I can hear Blaze in my mind. He and Alana are getting on pretty smoothly so to say we only just accepted each other.

He's just about to move when my door gets swung open and there is his mom and dad, Charlie (his brother) Hunter who is his best friend and my best friend/brother all standing there smiling and clapping.

His mom rushes in and gives us both a big hug and his dad claps him on his shoulder and gives me a fatherly hug while my brother and the others walk in, talking and laughing.

It's 8:30 pm and everyone's left. Alana doesn't want us to sleep alone tonight but I'm extremely nervous to ask him if I can stay with him.

" You want to come back to my room and continue eating food and watching The Vampire Diaries?" He asks pulling me in for a hug. The big build and muscles that ripple through his clothes and his 6ft 3 height make my 5 ft something seem tiny in comparison.

"Is that okay?" I ask him while beating myself up internally.

"Course it is beautiful."

I think he wants me to get used to this first because we walk out but he doesn't try to do anything we just start walking side by side.

I nervously reach out and go to lock my hand in his. He's quick to lace our fingers together and we walk back to his room in comfortable silence.

"You get yourself comfy on the bed I'm just going to get us a cup of tea okay"

"Okay," I say back. It's the only word I know that doesn't make me sound like a complete idiot when I talk.

Not 15 minutes later he's walking back in with 2 cups of tea and another bag of popcorn in between his teeth.

"Thank you," I say to him. The sparks of his touches send electric volts through my body and it feels so good.

We press play on the TV and we get comfortable on the bed. Over the last week or so we have been spending a lot of time together but I still feel awkward. I want to feel like I can be myself but I don't want to in the way or make him mad.

After a few episodes of The Vampire Diaries, I ask him if we can watch it together as our thing and he's quick to agree. He secretly loves Stefan...but then again who doesn't...

" You ready for sleep" he asks me. I take that as my cue to leave.

"I suppose I am. Thank you for tonight it's been lovely. I'll see myself out" I say with a smile on my face. My first genuine smile in a long time and it feels great.

"Or... you could stay here...with me?" I turn around and look at him quite shocked that he asked me to be honest.

"I'd like that" I tell him. "Can I nip back to my room so I can get a shower and grab some clothes?"

"You don't need to ask beautiful. Just tell me"

I'm back in my room and my heart is beating so loudly that I think even Finn down the hall can hear it.
