Chapter 20 - oath

Finley's POV

Tonight has been great. I've noticed Esme sitting nearer to a corner but this is a huge thing for her, I knew she would feel a little uncomfortable with hundreds of people gathering for tonight but I am proud she has managed to come along and watch me become a member of this pack.

It's 8:30 pm. Looking outside I can see it's already dark because it's November time and the sun sets at around 5:30 so by 7 Pm. it is pitch black outside and the stars are usually shining. I have had people coming up to me and asking me questions and it's been nice to just talk to people, I never had this before, my life has always consisted of trying my best to protect my sister but I know it's her who took the beatings. There wasn't any other way to step in, she was too weak for the dungeons.

"Are you ready?" Jacob says to me while patting my back. Robyn has been with my sister most of today, she didn't say why she said that Esme wanted to tell me tomorrow.

"I'm good. I'm ready I think"

"Good because Jaxon is about to get up there and will be waiting for you. You've got this son. Do me proud"

"I will. Thank you, sir"

"Please just Jacob lad. Your family" I don't shoot my emotions out but I show my gratitude towards them and Alpha Jaxon and his beta and gamma for all they have done for us so far.

"As most of you know" Jaxon begins with.

"Finley can you come up here please" he says while looking my way. He knows when to remain professional from his causal side and I think that's why I respect him so much more than the man he could be with all this power. He's a good match for my sister and I hope she can be happy here too.

"We have recently had 2 new members join our pack from another pack. Tonight we are celebrating our first ceremony for Finley West who will be officially joining us as of tonight. As of tonight you will be able to contact Finley through your mind links but please bear in mind that there are so many of you but only one of him " he says while laughing.

Here it comes.

"Finley. From today onwards do you promise to always protect this pack? To put this pack before anything else and respect your brothers and sisters, to show commitment when commitment is needed?"

"I do," I say with a beaming smile on my face. The crowd is quiet. And it almost feels as though no one's here.

After slicing some of the skin on my finger I dangle it over a small cup holder along with Jaxon and I let some of my blood flow into the cup. Pride and Happiness fills me inside and out.

"Congratulations to Finley West who is now officially a pack member of the Midnight pack."

The crowd erupts in cheers and whooo's and I can't contain my excitement. I'm immediately shaking hands with Jaxon and I instantly feel the connection to him and his pack.

I get off stage and there is my sister in the middle of the stage approaching me to hug me.

"I'm so proud of you baby brother," she says while smiling at me.

"5 minutes. You're older by 5 minutes" I say back while laughing.

I get approached by Naomi who instantly hugs me and I can't hold it back anymore. It's now or never, the room falls silent when Jaxon hushes everyone and all eyes are on us...Now I have to do this. "Naomi Aldridge, do you accept me, Finley West to be my mate" The room erupts in awe and oohs but is quiet again in seconds, obviously waiting for her response and so am I...Nervously might I add. I forgot where I was for a moment that if I get rejected then I have humiliated myself in front of everyone here.

"I, Naomi Aldridge accept you Finley West as my mate"

"FUCK! That's all I wanted to hear!" I tell her before I pull her close and kiss her.

"You're so beautiful you know that Naomi!"

She's blushing so much that it's adorable to see that I don't even feel anyone present here. I kiss her again.

As the night draws on I am happy to admit that I'm going to bed a happy man tonight. I introduced Naomi to Esme and they seemed to have hit it off really well.

It's nearly midnight and a lot of folks have already said night, congratulated me and gone to their rooms for the night.

It's a blessing to me here.

"You did me proud Lad" Jacob says behind me. I'm officially proud to have you as a member of our pack!

"Thank you! It's an honour to be a member officially" I tell him

"Have you seen my sister? I'm looking at turning in for the night and I just want to say night." I ask Robyn and Jacob

"She's just over there look. Near Jaxon"

I thank them again and make my way to my sister. She and Jaxon were just about to leave to go to bed as well but I thought I would say night to her now before I go upstairs.

"Esme. I'm off now but I just want to say that I am proud of you for coming tonight and I'm even happier that you stayed"

"Thank you, Finn! It was an honour to watch you tonight! You did me proud tonight Thank you"

Once we finished with the goodbyes and the thankyou's I headed upstairs holding my mate's hand. I walk her to her room and she stops at her door.

"Do you want to come inside with me?" Naomi asks me.

"I would be honoured," I tell her back.

The night nearing an end for us as we're kissing and cuddling in bed watching Gossip Girl on Netflix and before I know it I'm nearly half asleep with my girl next to me.
