Esme's POV
As the first rays of sunlight peeked through the horizon, casting an ethereal glow over the sleepy town, our footsteps barely making a sound on the floor as me and Jax head on down stairs to get a cup of coffee before going to get Reggie up. We had Planned to stay inside today with how hot it was yesterday that we wanted to start planning for the wedding happening in a matter of 13 weeks. After the birth of our little girl and I can't wait.
Robyn has agreed to help me plan for this as I haven't a clue what I'm doing and I couldn't be anymore grateful to her. Since stepping down as the Luna of our pack she has had much more time of her hands and she's been doing a lot of baking or helping some of the children with their homework when she thinks no ones watching her and it's so nice to see her happy.
For Robyn, caring for people, it held a special significance. As the mate and wife of the packs old Alpha, Jacob and being the pack's former Luna, she has always had a bond with the natural world around her, a connection that seemed to grow stronger even when she wasn't Luna and it's what makes her special. I never exactly had a mother I mean Yes I have a mother but she wasn't one to me and my brother and sometimes I wished that Robyn was my mom. Not because I'm spiteful or trying to hurt anyone but I never got the guidance and affection I wanted growing up so I had to rely on myself. Now that I have Jaxon and his family as well as my brother and our babies my life was complete and my confidence had spiked over the last 9 / 10 months of being here and It's to do with my mate. The love of my life. My second chance at happiness and he does make me happy.
"So what's on the wedding agenda today princess?" Jaxon asks as we sit at the table and have 10 minutes. My back is slowly starting to hurt now so sleeping and getting comfortable isn't an option, It just makes me feel more annoyed. My pregnancy was a whirlwind of emotions, a rollercoaster ride that had been on a steady incline since the moment I had discovered the little bean growing inside her. As if being pregnant weren't draining enough, the hormones seemed to have taken a sledgehammer to my already delicate emotions, leaving me feeling like I'm on the constant brink of tears or laughter, sometimes both at once. With only five more weeks to go until the little lady should be here, I found myself both eagerly anticipating the birth and wishing she could just freeze time, savouring moments like this. As exhausting as it was I knew that once she was here everything will be good and our family will be complete.
"Guest list and who you will have as your best men" I said while taking a sip of my tea...Yes tea because apparently having coffee isn't really advised while your pregnant, another reason why I can't wait for little lady to arrive so I can have my 800 cups of coffee a day.
After spending half an hour doing a sticky note colour rhythm I manage to get a going on who we are inviting and the guests that might show up, Pink colours meaning they will attend, Blue sticky notes meaning they might not be able to attend, The green sticky note is a whole section on foods we can do and if it will be a Buffett kind of grab what you want and mingle or if it will be hosting everyone on the outside with tables lining up everywhere near a makeshift dance floor and have everyone seated at the tables. The green notes are also used for the drinks section as well so we will decide on what we will have and then what everyone else preference is. I could always do a questionnaire to send around for the people of our pack to decide themselves instead of me asking. I could always leave them in the pack house in stacks of 100 each day so everyone can grab one and fill it in when they have 5 minutes. I continue listing out items to Jaxon and also Reggie who probably isn't listening but worth a try.
"The yellow sticky notes could be for the suits and dresses kind of thing meaning we sit down and grab ideas from Pinterest or magazines and then Collab them to different outfits, maybe separate things to fit our style...which is what by the way?" I ask having no clue. This sort of thing needs to be done by the professionals I swear.
"Why don't you both do a unique wedding. Esme you've always said you don't want to have the common / Traditional weddings of big dresses and long vails so why not look for things that you like instead" Robyn says cutting through my inner thoughts. It isn't a bad idea at all I just wish I had inspiration to go on with.
The problem was, I had no idea where to start. and then an idea popped into my head...Robyn.
I knew that Robyn would be the perfect person to help me find inspiration and my mojo seems how her and Jacob have been married for over a decade. And everytime I saw Jacob enter the room we was all in I had caught a glimpse of the sparkle in her eyes, the hint of a blush on her cheeks and the way she and Jacob seemed to float effortlessly together as if they were one. It was the kind of love Esme wanted for herself and Jaxon.
The sun was already high in the sky with it being lunch time, and I could only hope that it was casting shadows across the grass from the tree's with no doubt that the children and teenagers of the pack were outside with it been a Sunday afternoon. I might even go for a walk outside later on and find some activities for the children to do while me and Reggie boy sits on the grass taking in the fresh scent of spring ready for summer to approach. Beautiful days always have beautiful ends to it.
"Robyn, You could help me? I mean if your okay with that"
her smiles brightens her whole face and its like watching a child open the Christmas present that they have longed to have. Priceless is what it is. "I would be honoured Sweetheart. Just let me know what it is that you want and then we can flick through all of the bindings I can get a hold of that will be full of ideas okay"
"That sounds amazing, thankyou" I say getting up and making my way to her so I could give her a hug. Again...I'm very emotional so when I pull back everyone who has randomly decided to enter the kitchen sees me crying like an idiot.
"Afternoon Luna, Afternoon Alpha" Some of the adults say while their kids run wild looking for stuff. This kitchen is the one that's the biggest of them all, towards the back there are the staff members who cook, its like a restaurant kind of thing because not everyone wants the same thing as someone else so we have daily menu's and here, where we all are right now is the communal kitchen where anyone can enter and grab food. Some of the pack buys certain things that they eat and will label it as there's for no one else to touch or when Robyn does her baking she will label ones for children and ones for the adults because she tries to make them not have as much sugars throughout the evening especially.
"Good afternoon guys. Is it still a beautiful day outside?" I ask while rocking with Reggie on my very pregnant belly.
"Yes Luna it is. The children want a drink so we have come in for a bit and to grab some sun cream as well.
"Well enjoy it! Tea will be at 6 tonight instead of 7, Alpha Jaxon has a meeting to attend out of the pack grounds and is wanting everyone to eat. Word will be spread about but just be mindful that your babies will probably want tonight's special" I say with a cheesy grin on my face.
"Chicken nuggets is it by any chance Luna?"
"It sure is Marley. it sure is"
after venturing around the house and finally getting my boy down for a nap I make my way across to the office where I can find my mate. Probably sitting there stressing now but I'm sure he's got everything under control.
"Es...baby, what is this?" Jaxon asks with his serious face.
