Chapter-22

Author's POV

She was sitting on the metal chair, tapping her feet nervously while waiting for the receptionist to let them in.

" I'm seriously tired sona..." a tired whisper brought her out of the trance.

She looked towards Aditi and gave her a small smile.

" We are next Adi... please hold on..." she whispered squeezing her hands.

" Token number 21..." the receptionist called loudly.

" Let's go..." heaving a sigh of relief, she walked Aditi inside the cabin.

Aditi walked inside, her shoulders drooped in defeat. The fever had drained her energy and she couldn't even walk without support.

Parul was about to walk in when her phone started buzzing. Her actions froze when she looked at the caller ID.

" Just tell him whatever is happening..." She stood outside the cabin, looking at her mobile screen waiting for the call to end on its own.

She sighed shakily when the call ended. Her brows furrowed when her phone started buzzing again.

" He is insane.." she mumbled looking at the caller ID.

" Sonaa..." she heard Aditi's tired cry.

Rejecting the call in a hurry, she walked inside the cabin.

Aditi was lying on the bed, sighing and heaving.

She looked at Aditi and then at the doctor who was watching her in awe.

" Ved!!" her eyes rounded in surprise. She looked happy.

" Parii!" the doctor exclaimed, giving her a side hug.

" Wait..how's she Ved?" she asked, walking towards Aditi.

" viral fever...she'll be fine..don't give her cold items.." he informed formally.

Aditi looked at the doctor and then at Parul.

" He is my senior Adi..." she said, looking at Vedant and then at Aditi with a small smile.

She took the prescription and walked towards the medicine counter to get it done. Aditi was sitting on the bed, looking at Vedant. His light brown eyes attracted her.

Vedant glanced at her. She looked oddly familiar to him. Aditi identified him but he couldn't remember.

" Ad_it_i_rao.." she pronounced looking straight into his eyes.

His eyes went round at the realisation.

Before he could say something, Parul walked in with the medicine. She did notice the awkward aura but didn't bother to ask anything. Yet.

" Night one and morning one after food..." he explained, Parul nodded.

Waving him a small bye, Parul held Aditi's hands and walked out of the cabin.

Aditi looked back, Vedant was watching her with a small smile playing on his lips, she smiled back before disappearing from his sight.

The street was empty. Except for the occasional barking of dogs and the faint noise of crickets, nothing could be heard.

She laughed out loud looking at the gentleman walking beside her.
