Chapter-92

Author's POV

When she saw Shiva sleeping on the couch, she was actually hurt. He had never ignored her and it was the first time he was behaving indifferently towards her.

He has been angry, furious and called her names but he never ignored her.

It was a different feeling altogether.

She was used to his compliments, poetries, obsessive love, possessiveness, jealousy, extreme temper, and beast sex energy. But this was something new and unsettling.

She didn't know why he was ignoring her in the first place. By the time she washed the dishes and left for their room, he was already sleeping on the couch.

He wasn't sleeping by the way. He was pretending to be asleep.

He was in a dilemma. The new information was just too much to digest.

Just days before their wedding, he had asked Mansoor to do a thorough background research on her. Her utter panic while Vikram sped the car, was one of the main reason

With the wedding and other work, Shiva asked him to keep that matter aside for a few days.

When he saw her acting strange during the video call, he asked Mansoor to get the work done as soon as possible.

And he didn't know what he would learn about her would possibly shatter their happiness.

Mansoor knew about Jennifer and his bitter past with her.

Days before their marriage, he had learnt that Jennifer donated her eyes to Parul and so, he was acting quite coldly towards her.

He was a loyal man and he knew how much Shiva suffered because of her betrayal. First his sister and his best friend and then Jennifer. Things after things happened which all moulded him into the beast that he is today.

He wanted to inform Shiva regarding the piece of information which he had found out but he didn't want to create problems in their wedding. So, he didn't tell him anything.

But when Shiva urged him to look at her background again, he gathered every data he could.

He delivered the file himself and also confessed later that he knew about her eyes before their marriage which earned him a black eye.

Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine something like that.

Jennifer wasn't a good woman. Shiva gave her everything in the end only to be betrayed by her.

He liked her innocence which was all an act. Jennifer was a lost cause. Her father's debt and the abuse she endured at his hands led her down a dark path.

To clear his debts, Jennifer's father Manuel sold her to the local brothel.

In the beginning, Jennifer was afraid, she resisted but then she was forced to accustom herself to the sexual abuse.

By the time Shiva saw her, she was a famous prostitute in that colony.

Despite knowing everything about her, Shiva cleared her debts and ordered her not to work in the brothel again.

Jennifer agreed. Shiva was her knight. But she wasn't a damsel in distress. Rather she had become a distress herself.

Shiva was entirely different three years ago. The betrayal by his close ones changed him into a monster.

Jennifer took advantage of him financially, sexually and socially. From the beginning, Shiva was clear about his stance. He wanted to get married to her. He didn't care about her status or her upbringing. He loved her. And that was enough. Or so he thought.
