Author's POV

Parul blinked her eyes in disbelief. His words rang in her ears faintly. She couldn't believe it was happening.

Not that she wasn't expecting. She was expecting but somehow she thought he might consider her choices. Her opinions.

Tears didn't seem to stop.

Despite knowing that there was no escape, it was hurting her.

She liked him.

Maybe it was more than just like. Maybe she failed to acknowledge her feelings.

She wasn't ready to marry him. The future with him was scaring her.

Shiva wasn't normal by any means. Whatever he did, he did it intensely, deeply.

She didn't like the idea of spending
the rest of her life in constant fear.

The fear and uncertainty of what he might do if I do this? What happens if I didn't do this?

It felt horrible.

Shiva didn't understand why she was acting like the weight of Sky was on her shoulders.

Her terrified expression made him think about himself.

Is marrying me that bad?

Shrugging that unreasonable thought, which he thought so, he groaned in annoyance when she didn't respond to him.

As much as annoyed he was, the urge to hug and console her was getting stronger.

He couldn't stop himself from circling his arms around her petite figure.

She was again in disbelief.

He made her cry and now, he hugged her, providing the shoulder to lean on and cry.

" It's not that bad...you know.." he wasn't sure why he said that.

He shouldn't have said that. Those words should have remained inside his mind.

But then, his desire to console her was stronger than anything else.

She pulled back from the hug and looked at him.

His eyes were flickering with many emotions. Anger and Love.

Angry at himself for saying it out loud.

As she continued to stare into his eyes, his jaw twitched on its own.

The contrasting emotions ignited a fire inside of him.

She was trying to find some mercy in his eyes. But there were none. Or maybe she didn't notice it.

" Show some mercy... please." her voice broke, and tears swiped down, one after another.

She didn't know what she was doing. Her words were irking his ego.

He looked at her for a brief minute, before chuckling. It was a humourless chuckle. Dark.

His lips curved into a sinister smirk.

" Although you call me merciless..." he paused, his voice deep. " For you, I've shown it a lot" his tone laced with mockery.
