Chapter-101
Author's POV
All Parul could do was shake her head in disapproval. She felt bad, really bad for Shiva. But she couldn't agree with him in blaming Aryan for Manvi's death.
He was knocked out before they dragged Manvi from there. Before he woke up, she was gone. There was nothing he could do.
It was fate.
As much as Shiva wanted to be calm, Parul supporting Aryan wasn't helping. His demons were fighting against his sanity.
But he wouldn't let his demons unleash on her, would he?
" You cannot blame him for that unfortunate incident. I know you are angry but please, drop that goddamn knife..." Parul pleaded with her eyes.
Shiva ignored the second part like a plague and focused only on the first part.
" Cannot blame him?" his lips stretched into a mocking smirk.
" Didn't he vow to protect her? He was her fucking husband! He should have protected her! It was his fucking responsibility" he snickered throwing her a death stare." He tried...but...there was nothing he could do..." she almost choked on her words. She knew the consequences of angering him. And by saying this she succesfully irked his rage.
" Nothing?" he chuckled humourlessly. " I'd protect you with my life..." He stated looking directly into her misty eyes. Her heart swelled with love hearing his confession. " And I'm not even kidding Paaru..., I will shield you against all the odds..." There was a dark promise lacing his voice.
Parul's eyes welled up with tears.
Tears of happiness.
She knew he'd protect her against all odds. What happened at Anandavan, a few weeks ago was a solid example. He'd protect her. That's it.
" You know I'd kill for you, right?" he asked, his calm chocolate pools lingering between her and the sharp blade in his hands. She nodded, reluctantly.
As dark as it sounded, it was the truth. She knew it.
" It also means, I'd live for you!" Shiva said tracing his fingers on the blade as if he was assessing the sharpness of the blade.
He was confessing his hard-core love for her. It takes a very very strong man to say what he said.
Of course, killing wasn't easy. But for Shiva it was easy. And living for her would challenge him. He wasn't a gentleman to begin with. To live for her, it takes a lot of love, courage and hope.
Although he believed that she loved him, sometimes it hurt. He never received that type of love from anyone. Not that he was expecting her to love him after what he did but still, the heart wants what it wants.
The room was engulfed in silence. Her eyes said what he wanted to hear so badly and that was enough. At least she didn't try to hide it.
A loud sob escaped her mouth as she ran towards Shiva. He opened his arms for her. Parul threw herself in his warmth. Shiva embraced her sobbing figure in his arms.
She sobbed for many reasons. The bad dream, Aryan's past, Shiva's heartfelt confession, it was all too much. Her emotions were everywhere. She buried her face in his chest and sobbed harder.
She didn't understand how could someone love like this. How could he love her so much? He'd do anything for her and he had proved it way many times. She felt overwhelmed by his burning love. She didn't even know if she deserved it or not! She was in emotional turmoil.
