AN: This one's kind of based on my experiences with hyperfixation, but I obviously don't have a Leon to share it all with...
I didn't specifically state what the focus was on, since I know everyone has their own obsessions and interests, but it's heavily implied that it's a fandom.
But if anyone was wondering, aside from Resident Evil I'm currently obsessed with Demon Slayer!
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Babe, you're still up?" Leon yawns, bare feet padding towards me where I sit on the sofa, eyes glued to the TV as I continue to watch all the content I can find on my current hyperfixation. I don't reply, just briefly give him a nod as the media ends.
"Come on, it's two in the morning, let's head to bed okay?" He softly suggests, rubbing my shoulders as I peel my eyes away from the screen, blinking up at him.
"But there's still more to watch, I've gotta know-" I begin, but Leon's smile makes me stop. A sudden yawn takes over me as I sigh, switching off the TV and following him to bed. I get under the covers, comfy and warm with Leon beside me, already half way to sleep, but I can't switch my brain off. I grab my phone, squinting against the light as I begin to search social media for things related to my new interest.
"Babe," Leon drawls, "I promise it'll all be there tomorrow, just get some sleep."
I sigh, biting my lip and feeling torn, but eventually I give in and set it aside, taking a deep breath as I focus on trying to sleep. When Leon turns over and begins to play with my hair, I'm soon relaxed enough to sleep.
The next day I continue to focus on my new obsession, from watching more and joining various fan pages, to even buying a few things online, and thankfully Leon doesn't say a word against it. This lasts a few days until Leon finally begins to join me and take an interest in my thing.
He sits with me, happy to watch what I'm watching and even asks questions, which I'm more than happy to answer.
"So this guy is related to that other cool one?"
I nod exaggeratedly, "Yeah, and-" I end up streaming off, telling Leon various facts I've picked up and over explaining it all. Poor Leon doesn't get a word in between, but smiles nonetheless, face softening until he just leans forward and kisses me.
"I love your brain."
I frown, letting out a small laugh before suggesting we do something else, which ends up relating to my hyperfixation.
A few days after this, I come home to find a box on the coffee table, my name written on it in Leon's writing. The very man appears moments later after just finishing a work call.
"I know you've been obsessed with this thing, so I got you something." He grins, excited as my eyes light up. I immediately don't waste anymore time, opening the box to reveal a figure/plushie of my favourite character. I squeal, wanting to press it to my chest and protect itw with my life Gollum style, but instead I run to Leon, jumping into his arms as he laughs and hugs me back.
"Thank you!"
"It's all worth it for that smile."
Only later that evening when Leon's cooking and I sit watching and talking to him, am I surprised when he begins to talk about my interest. He knows things about it, and not just the basics, I'm shocked but so elated. "How do you know all this?" I ask.
He shrugs, a small blush covers his cheeks. "I might have looked into a few things so I can talk to you about it."
That earns him a kiss.
Eventually I begin to feel less passionate about my thing, slowly moving onto something else, and Leon doesn't comment or judge me for it. He just goes with my flow, happy to listen to my late night rambles and talk to me about it, playing games or reading books with me, not commenting on the new shelf for my collectibles or that new word/phrase I keep saying.
"As long as you're happy and healthy, then my life is complete." Are his words to me one morning.
