I follow Leon closely, a newfound closeness lingers between us after our talk earlier when he found me crying in one of the castle rooms. Right now we're searching for statue heads to finish some kind of puzzle in order to open a secret door. Nothing in this castle is as it seems, so I'm not going to overanalyse the odd things we've got to do to get out of here. Leon aims his gun up, ready to shoot anymore of those creepy cultists as we enter what looks to be a display room. Leon looks behind his shoulder, checking to see if I'm still here and okay, so I give him a thumbs up as he nods and continues forwards. We begin to walk across a small bridge, the golden statue head we need is just ahead, but all of a sudden the once empty room fills with people dressed in grey robes. I let out a small sound, grabbing onto the spikes for support as the bridge we're on lowers.

"Really?" I squeak, eyes widening at the masked man pulling a lever on a balcony above us. Leon grunts, already reaching out an arm to push me behind him as the bridge reaches the floor.

"We're sandwiched all right!" He calls out, already firing his gun into the nearest robed man's head. I jump back, crouching low as Leon fights to protect me. I stay as far back as I can as gunshots echo loudly around the room, I cover my ears, hating how my life's become danger and death since the beginning of the week. I watch with nervousness as Leon expertly uses his gun and knife to take down anyone who dares to come close. Though I know he's doing it because it's his job, it still makes my heart flutter at how determined he is to lay down his life in order for me to keep mine. We've grown close since meeting hours ago, it's ridiculous but I really do think we've got some chemistry between us. Leon's pained groan pulls me out of my thoughts as I see more of those robed lunatics jump off of the balcony to come get me. One man approaches from behind us, some low growl of Spanish comes out of his mouth as his arms reach out to me. I yelp, ducking just as he launches his body towards me. I barely escape his clutches, my eyes dart to Leon as he battles with a group of enemies.

He can't help me right now.

Two more of those robed men appear behind me, and I've got two choices; run or fight. I begin to back away, my boots feel heavy from my cowardice, and heart speeds up as fear consumes me, then suddenly I have a moment of bravery- or stupidity. A silver sword hangs on the wall next to my head, it would take two seconds to unhook it and use it, though I've never even held a sword in my life it seems like if I am going to stay and fight this is my only option. I don't think as I turn and reach up on my toes to grab it. Immediately the sword clatters to the plush red carpet, but I waste no time picking the surprisingly heavy sword up and holding it for life.

"Stay back!" I shout with as much authority I can muster. In the corner of my eye I see Leon's head swivel towards me, his eyes do a double take when he sees that I'm actually trying to defend myself. "I mean it, I'll use this!" I say as my shaky hands swing the sword about as if I'm giving the approaching men a warning. They don't even care as they continue to prowl forwards, then suddenly one takes a literal leap towards me. I use all my strength to raise the sword above my head like some warrior, then I bring it down on his helmeted head. I hear the man make a low noise, his body stumbles but he doesn't go down, so quickly I do the same thing again, bashing him over the head until he falls to the side and stays there. I grin, letting out a small laugh at my victory.

"What are you doing? Put that thing down!" Leon calls out as he pulls the knife out of one man's head. The body drops as the two robed figures next to me turn to him. I use the distraction to swing the sword again, this time the side of it hits one man's head. Leon quickly reloads his gun as one man charges towards him meanwhile my one focuses on trying to capture me. I carefully lead him away from Leon, trying my best to be useful as Leon takes down the man beside him, then just as I swing my sword again Leon raises his gun and shoots the man approaching me. The body falls as I pant, lowering the heavy sword as my arms shake. I smile, reaching up to wipe my arm across my sweaty head.

"That was awesome!" I cheer, doing a little dance as Leon stares at me incredulously. The blonde man blinks at me, partly watching me with an amused look before he walks towards me and reaches for my sword, but I step away, frowning as I hold the blade to my body. "Hey!"

"Come on, you're gonna hurt yourself." Leon tries to reason, but I shake my head, lifting my chin in defiance.

"No way, this is mine now." I pout. I smile sweetly, then watch as Leon's lips curve upwards. He shakes his head, glancing at the bodies I took down, then when he looks back at me all I see his a light-heartedness I've never noticed before. I wonder if this is who Leon is when he lets his guard down and allows himself a piece of joy. A quiet chuckle escapes him as he nods, sheathing his knife back in its holder.

"You're just gonna carry that thing around with us the whole time?" Leon huffs, arching a single brow as if challenging me. I rock on my toes as I nod, observing my jewelled sword.

"Yup," I reply, "I'm keeping it as a souvenir from this wonderful vacation." Leon's eyes twinkle at my sarcasm, then he shrugs and looks around, searching for a way back up to grab the statue head. He points to a ladder, so we begin to make our way to it, with Leon going first and giving me a nice view of his ass.

"What the lady wants the lady gets I suppose." He mumbles, reaching down to hold out a hand when he's at the top. I take it, letting him pull me up with his strength. Our hands linger for longer than needed until I eventually pull away and dust off my clothes as Leon goes and pulls the lever. The bridge to the puzzle piece rises as I sigh, already making my way down the ladder as Leon jumps. I let out a breath of air, huffing at his skills, then we go back to the bridge, grabbing the statue piece which I hold as we go back to the main puzzle. I pass it to Leon as he sets it in place, but there's still two more to go.

"Looks like we're making progress." I muse. Leon turns, giving me a smile.

"Look at Miss Positive. Careful with that sword, I promised to take you home in one piece."

"Yeah, yeah." I wave off, then we go in search of the second statue head.
