I set down my drink and sit at the table with my husband Leon and our friend Claire, who's come over for a chat. The pair turn to me, engaging me in their conversation until a shrill cry breaks the peace. I look to Leon who's already standing up to go to get our baby daughter, who's just over two months old.

"So, mom life tough?" Claire asks, arching a brow as I shake my head, briefly hearing Leon coo to our girl. I sip my drink before answering her.

"It's not as hard as I'd expected, especially since the little one seems to be a daddy's girl, there's been tough times but thankfully Leon's been amazing, supporting me through it all. What about you? Have you heard from Sherry recently?" I ask, knowing that Claire sees herself as a parental/ older sister to the girl she saved from Raccoon City years and years ago. She pinches her lips together giving me a tense shake of her head before Leon comes in, breaking the suddenly sad mood.

"Look who's awake, D/N say 'hi' to your Auntie Claire." Leon coos, gently taking one of our baby's hands and waving it as she coos and babbles. We all laugh, basking in the innocence and cuteness of her. Leon sits down again, holding D/N to his chest as she grabs at him and latches her mouth to his shoulder. Her dribble instantly wets his grey tee, but he's probably used to it by now. Our little one seems to think that Leon's also a provider of her delicious food, but that isn't the case, regardless she still sucks and bites, trying to figure out why she's not being fed. Leon rubs her back, once again we all continue our conversation until our baby squeals and giggles at the giant wet patch on Leon's shoulder. Claire pulls a face, smiling as Leon looks down and amusedly purses his lips.

"Does she do this often? Eating people?" Claire laughs, grabbing a tissue for Leon as he wipes our baby's mouth. I sigh as Leon nods at our daughters antics.

"All the time, she's just got a taste of adventure." He quips, tickling our baby. She giggles, blue eyes sparkling as she once again resumes the taste test. I shake my head ruefully as Leon shrugs, leaning his head down to place a loving kiss to our daughter's head. She babbles, but seems content nibbling still. "I don't mind it, as long as she's the only one trying to take a bite out of me. I'm hoping it doesn't continue by the time she gets teeth..." He winces, imagining the teeth marks. I laugh, picking up my drink as Claire begins talking again, then hours pass of conversation and the occasional break so we can care for D/N.

By the time Claire's left Leon's tee looks soaked, it's sticking to his shoulder like a second skin, so I go upstairs to get him a new one before taking the baby from him. He chuckles, taking off the grey one to replace it with a dry one, then reaches out for his daughter again. I hold her possessively until he pouts, so I sigh and pass her back. We're both devoted parents and often playfully bicker about who gets to hold her and enjoy the warmth of her plus that baby smell we adore. As if any of us expected differently, we both stare as D/N goes to ruin this new tee too. Leon cradles her, moving her away from his shoulder but she fusses and begins to cry, Leon can't let that happen, so he lets her back, huffing as she opens wide and nibbles once more.

"Aww come on sweetie, again?" He murmurs. I stifle a laugh as he sets her down on her playmat before taking off his top again, but this time leaving it fabric free. I stare at his muscular chest and the various scars and marks there, momentarily caught in his handsomeness, then when he clicks his tongue my eyes meet his. "Just wait 'til she's down for her nap, then you can have me all to yourself honey." I blush, but y heart flutters at the promise. Our daughter wriggles as she tilts her head to get a better bite, then her toothless mouth begins to suck and bite, leaving a line of drool. Anyone else might think it's gross, but to us it's normal and just our girl's way of exploring. Leon and I sit on the sofa, putting on a movie as our girl eventually grows tired of her nibbles, and falls asleep. I watch, fascinated with her and the man who loves us both unconditionally. I snuggle into Leon, basking in his warmth as he carefully wraps an arm around my shoulders, and kisses my head.
