AN: Somebody requested a songfic of Safe and Sound by Capital Cities. This one's fluffy, just showing snippets of Reader and Leon's relationship, and since I didn't know the song before this hopefully the vibes work!

I didn't do the whole song since it wouldn't all fit, but since the lyrics are repetitive at the end anyway I think the way I did it works.

------------------------------------------------

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

"Come on sweetheart, I think you're putting too much pressure on yourself." Leon murmurs into my ear as I sigh, closing my laptop and setting my work aside. I nod, leaning back against him, my mouth curving into a smile as his lips graze the back of my neck, eagerly working their way to that spot behind my ear that has my breath hitching. It still doesn't change the fact that I'm unsure about the work I've been doing, or if it's even good enough for my boss.

"I've got to finish this tonight, it needs to be perfect." I mumble, feeling Leon huff a laugh into my hair, then he pulls away, turning my chair so I'm facing him. I arch a brow, eyes flicking back to the laptop that's calling out to me. Leon gently grabs my chin, directing my gaze upwards to meet his eyes.

"Everything you do is fine, you worry too much. I know you want to do the best you can, but troubling yourself and getting overwhelmed isn't the right way to do it. Let's take the rest of the night off, okay? We'll go out and grab some food from wherever you want."

My shoulders slump in defeat. He's right. I stand up, wrapping my arms around him, glad that he's always here for me when I need him. Leon supports me through everything, and always gives me the best advice he can, showing me back on the right path so I can get to where I need to be in life.

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we'll be safe and sound

We're safe and sound

"No way..." I lead off, rolling onto my stomach as I press the phone closer to my ear, my fingers trace the patters on the duvet cover as Leon's chuckle fills my ears. He's been gone for about a week now, and I miss him so much, but luckily with this particular mission he can call me whenever he wants.

"Yeah, and then just as the guy grabs my wallet and tries to identify me, almost blowing my cover, he sees that picture of you I keep with me, and he suddenly assumes I'm some guy he bumped into a few years ago in Thailand. I obviously went with that story, and it pretty much saved the mission." Leon lightly says, telling me about something that happened to him earlier today. A small laugh escapes me as I think of the way Leon's probably sat on his hotel bed, grinning at the wall as he relays this to me.

"That's so lucky." I reply, brows rising at the odd situation only my boyfriend could find himself in.

"You can say that again. I don't think it's me though honey, it's definitely you. You're my good luck charm, even when you're not actually with me." Leon muses. I bite back a smile as I lead the conversation elsewhere, enjoying the sound of Leon's voice and the familiarity of our bond.

I could fill your cup
You know my river won't evaporate
This world we still appreciate

"Ugh, it's your fault." I mumble, emerging briefly from under the blanket. Leon's eyebrows lift to the roof as he points a finger at himself, an incredulous look on his face.

"Me?" He asks, a little high pitched. "I didn't force you to drink all that wine." He smiles, resting a hand on the small of my back as I delve back under the blankets, avoiding daylight like some kind of vampire. A moan of pain escapes me, but Leon just finds it amusing, knowing for a fact I'll be fine in a few hours.
