Martina and I were currently in a taxi to this Elle award show thing and I was nervously bouncing my leg up and down.
"How'd it go with Gavi today?" she asked, typing something on her phone.
"Good. It's a hard road he's on but he's doing great" I replied, smiling at the memories of today.
She mimicked my smile jokingly and I laughed too.
"Would you ever get back together with him?" she asked and that question shocked me a bit.
"I... haven't given that much thought. But I doubt that we'll go down that road again" I replied, deep deep down somewhere, hoping that I was wrong, but I didn't want to admit that to myself.

We arrived at the location and I walked the red carpet before being interviewed. It was a bit overwhelming and I was afraid of the flashes possibly making me snap and causing a panic attack just like those turbulences in the plane to Riyadh had. But I remembered Dr Reyes' breathing exercises and all went well, letting me arrive at my seat with a sense of relief.

When the presenter called me on stage to receive the award, I walked up confidently, a huge smile on my face. I folded up the papers where the speech I had prepared was written on, and took a deep breath before looking into the audience and adjusting my microphone.
"Thank you. Good evening! Thank you so much Elle and everyone who voted for me to receive this award.
First of all, I want to thank everyone at La Vanguardia who has helped me grow into the journalist I always wanted to be and to everyone there who believed in me. I also want to thank my family, especially my parents for teaching me those life values that I hold high and want to transmit to my kids one day as well.
The past year has been... a whirlwind. When I got the call that I had to step in as a Middle East reporter, I was overly ecstatic about what was to come. But life had other plans and threw huge challenges at me - that I managed to survive, but am still working to overcome.
There are so many other inspiring women all over Spain and I am overly thankful that I have been chosen to receive this award and hope that over the course of the next year, I will be able to continue inspiring fellow women.
So thank you again, Elle, and to all the women out there: keep shining."
After my speech, there was an applause and I smiled into the cameras with my small award statue before sitting back down again.

After the award show, there were some food and drinks but after an hour of chatting with various people, I decided to go home. When I was in my taxi, I got on my phone.
