Victoria and Pablo meet by chance when she has to interview him after the Nations League final 2023.
He's immediately infatuated by her, but due to a few years age difference, she only sees him as a younger friend.
Will he make it out of the friendz...
The second our plane hit the ground in Barcelona, I loosened my grip on Pablo and dried my tears. I knew what he was thinking, I felt what he was thinking: he was afraid and he was going to leave me. You can feel it when a breakup is coming, at least, I could always feel it. "Are you ok? You still don't want to tell me what happened?" he asked and I shook my head, not wanting to be even more vulnerable.
When the doors of the aircraft were opened, I stumbled over Pablo's legs and hurried to be the first one to exit. On the runway, there were two police officers waiting for me - great, now everyone would probably think that I committed a crime and murdered someone to get this special treatment but no, it was just me, haunted by the ghosts of my past. "I gather you're my pick-up?" I asked one of the guys and he nodded, opening the back door of a black Mercedes for me. The people were now descending from the plane and some looked at the weird scene unfolding here.
While we sat in the car, one of the officers spoke up. "Miss Hernandez, we have been instructed to grant you police protection for the next few days, until the dust has settled." he said. "Yeah, well tomorrow, better said, today, I have an invite in Castelldefels and then I'm travelling to Andalusia for work" I informed them. "Miss Hernandez, we strongly advise you to cancel-" the other started but I rolled my eyes and interrupted him. "Listen, I'm very low right now, if I don't go out and distract myself, I'll sit at home, depressed and crying. You legally can't lock me up, just... follow me or whatever" I huffed and the two officers exchanged an annoyed look, but stopped talking thankfully.
When we arrived at my apartment building, they already had a spot reserved for their car and the two guys followed me upstairs, stopping at my front door where they would probably stay all night. I sighed and went inside, hoping to catch a few hours of sleep in some way - I was still pretty run-down from the alcohol I had consumed earlier and was already fearing tomorrow's hangover.
When I woke up the next morning, my phone was buzzing, and after a quick glance, I saw why. I had been so caught up in everything lately that I had completely forgotten about it and now I couldn't even really enjoy this moment.
