🎶 Viva La Vida — Coldplay 🎶Kike and I left Malaga on Sunday evening and returned to Barcelona as we both had to work on Monday. I had somehow managed to calm down and was set to focus on those four remaining months of work as a football reporter and make the best out of it. I had friends and family who loved me very much and I was sure that they were going to be there for me.
On Monday, I had a very important meeting with CBS Sports as they were handing over the coverage of the Barca vs Napoli clash to me tomorrow as the original crew with Kate, Thierry, Jamie and Micah was flying to London to cover the Arsenal vs Porto game. I had managed to get David Villa as well as Fernando Torres on board with me, and we prepared the order of events for the next evening in the hour-long meeting. They were two great guys and gave me a lot of insight as we talked about tactics and gameplay. I still don't know how I managed to pull them to do this with me, especially since CBS had given me free hand in this and I had been on my own in calling around sports agencies. But being a somewhat public figure, probably had its perks. And maybe also being Gavi's ex. It was still talked about a lot, other sports reporters always brought that up to question my qualities as a journalist, but in my opinion it was just pure jealousy.
After the meeting, I worked on my match preview for tomorrow's newspaper. The whole city was buzzing in anticipation, with people hanging up Catalan flags onto their balconies and dressing in team jerseys. It hurt seeing some Gavi ones around, I had noticed that he had blocked me on WhatsApp and Instagram, which meant that he wasn't going to reach out and did not want me to either.
When I was done with work, I drove back home to get ready for some Harper's Bazaar event that Martina and I were going to to start drumming up business for my book.
"We have a meeting scheduled with Gavi, his agent and a PR rep from Barca on Thursday" she spoke up, as we were sat in our car on the way to the event.
"Fucking hell, what do they want now?" I groaned and threw back my head.
"Something about your book" she replied as she typed some stuff into her phone."Shit. They're trying to silence us" I mumbled and she looked at me with a confused face. "Gavi knows about the last chapter." I said and she raised her eyebrows in surprise. "He may have even read it..." I mumbled.
"Vicky! How?!" she exclaimed.
"We... had been seeing each other again, he was at my place and... he found it" I sighed and closed my eyes, dreading her reaction.
"Ugh... You're not making my life any easier, but whatever. Let's see what they want" she replied and I was kind of surprised. Why wasn't she telling me that seeing him again was a bad, bad, bad idea?📍 Barcelona, Catalunya, España
