Today was the day. In the midst of my hectic schedule, Pablo's management and I had been able to find a date for my exclusive. They were being overly generous, as I was allowed to follow him around for a day at the Ciutat Esportiva during which he'd have physio and individual training. It was going to be huge: a four-page print exclusive, a short version in an online article, an Instagram takeover from Pablo himself and a camera guy was coming with me to make a YouTube video out of it. I was pretty sure that Pablo had been the force behind that as Ivan hadn't seemed too ecstatic about my request.
And so I arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva on a Monday morning and it reminded me of that one time I came to pick Pablo up after training for a date. My heart stung a bit, but I tried to brush it off. I needed to focus on today and deliver the most professional version of myself - I could already see the flood of theories coming of why I was given this opportunity.
"Good morning" I greeted the receptionist and she curtly nodded at me. There was no need to introduce myself, she already knew who I was and why I was here. My camera man Miguel had also arrived in the meantime, we already knew each other from when he had covered my interview with Princess Leonor. "How the hell did you get this thing? Are you guys back together?" he whispered as we were being taken to the locker room, where we would meet Pablo and Ivan. "A bit of blackmailing" I chuckled, not even really lying. "You're so cool" Miguel swooned and I gave him a smug smile.
We arrived and Pablo was already there. Shirtless, having just put on his socks. I stopped in my tracks and hoped that my jaw hadn't dropped. He looked hot and I had been alone and horny for too long. "Um... good morning... We can wait outside for another minute" I stammered but Pablo shook his head, quickly pulling over his training t-shirt. "No need, I'm ready" he said and looked up to give me the most adorable smile. "Where should we start?" he asked. "Maybe you could quickly take a short video announcing your takeover for our Instagram account and then... we just follow you?" I asked, trying to sound confident and secure, but inside I was nervous and giddy like a little fangirl. "Perfect! Let's go!" he said and walked out with Ivan, Miguel and me following behind. It was almost 80 days since his injury and he was walking without crutches again, but I could still see a slight hesitance in his step.
