🎶 LALA — Myke Towers 🎶

The show must go on. That was what my dad always used to say when he returned from a failed deal, but he never let his head hang low, his eyes were already on the next investment. And that was exactly what I did now, packing for Seville, as Betis was playing Celta. Since I was a sucker for trains, I was now waiting for mine to start its nearly 6-hour journey to the south, rather than huddling through airports and security. Talking about security, I was finally cleared and my police protection had been withdrawn, thankfully. I think my mum would have gotten a stroke if I showed up at my uncle's with two officers in tow and would have had to confess that I was claimed to be the target of a terrorist attack.

But thankfully my Dad and her hadn't arrived yet and only my Grandma and Paola were at home when I arrived in the afternoon at their Palacio.
"The grand Victoria is here!" my cousin exclaimed happily when I entered the living room where they were both sitting.
"More like the heartbroken Victoria... Pablo dumped me for good just yesterday evening" I huffed as I slumped down on the sofa.
"He did WHAT?!" Paola shrieked, immediately sitting down next to me.
"I don't want to talk about it" I told her and thanked their housemaid Lili when she brought me the coffee I had asked for upon my arrival.

"He'll come around, Vicky, give that boy a break..." my Grandma tried defending him.
"Honestly, I don't want him to. Maybe he's right and he's not good for me, I mean, look at the past months. Maybe you should just set me up with some grandson of one of your friends and just engage me away, so that I can skip the dating part, just like old times" I huffed and played with the hem of my shirt.
"Wow, you're really..." Paola started, trying to find the right words.
"I don't care. There won't be anyone again that I'll love like him" I said and gulped down my coffee. "Might as well spend the rest of my life with whoever" I added before standing up again and making my way to the usual room I stayed in here.

Knowing that my parents would arrive in the evening, I escaped the house early enough to not cross paths with them and having to explain myself after Paola would run them over with the news I had just shared. Seville was a beautiful city at this time of the year, and I enjoyed the 5° more compared to Barcelona - the only thing it was missing was the sea, a reason why I couldn't ever live here. Eventually, I made it to the stadium - the game wasn't overly exciting and ended in a home win for Betis, Celta missing out on much-needed points.

When I arrived back home, everyone was sitting in the inner courtyard, Kike, my parents, Blanca and Belen with her family having all arrived in the meantime.
"Let me guess, you've all heard about my love life developments..." I sighed when I saw everyone's pitiful looks on me. I slumped down in a chair and put a cigarette into my Iqos, lighting it up.
"Should I use a picture of Gavi instead of the muleta on Sunday?" my little cousin Carlos joked, making everyone, including me, laugh.
"It's... what it is, I can't change him or the situation... I'll have to move on somehow" I sighed and looked at Dad who shot me a sympathetic smile.
