When I woke up on Monday morning, I was completely knackered, but knew that I had to get up as I had a lunch scheduled with Martina. We met up at a restaurant near Vanguardia and she pulled out a stack of letters and papers.
"What's this?" I asked curiously.
"Invites to events. Go through them and tell me which ones you'd like to attend and I'll accept the ones that align with your schedule" she told me as she sipped on her lemon water.
"Yes, Ma'am" I replied and grinned.
"Next point: your book. Vanguardia Publishing is open for a kind of memoir-type of story about your time in the Middle East, the imprisonment, the escape and so on. Do you want to do this?" she asked me.
"Yes. I'm ready" I replied confidently and Martina shot me an encouraging smile.
"You... are allowed to do a tell-all. I mean, if you want. Vanguardia will cover whatever comes your way" she said.
"You mean... if I write something that breaches the NDA about my relationship with Gavi and Barca decides to take legal action?" I asked and she nodded. I sighed. "I don't know, Martina. I'll think about it... If it fits the story when I write the book. I don't want my ex-relationship defining my story - because the story is so much bigger than that guy" I said quietly.
"And I understand, it's completely up to you, it's your book and don't feel pressured. I just wanted to tell you that we're all behind you" she replied and smiled.

In the evening, Chiara, Irene and I were meeting up and I arrived at the restaurant just on time, finding Chiara already sitting at a table.
"Hey" I greeted her happily.
"Hi, you look good! Much better!" she said and hugged me. I just raised my eyebrows at her.
"Really, I mean it. Irene is joining us after dinner, she just texted that she's being held up at work" Chiara said and I glanced at my lock screen, finding Irene's message in our group chat. Chiara asked me all about Saudi and I told her everything, including the confrontation with Vitor Roque.
"Well, the drama never seems to stop" she chuckled and I just groaned.

"Anyways, what went down in Barcelona during my absence?" I asked, changing the topic.
"Mateo and I met by chance on Thursday at the same bar, we were each there with our friends to watch the game and we ended up chatting all night. It was very nice. I may or may not have gone home with him afterwards..." she said and blushed.
"Awwww! I always knew you guys had something!" I exclaimed happily.
"Yeah... it's just somehow never been the right time as he first moved away for uni, when he came back I moved away, when I came back he moved again for a job, but now... we're both back and maybe..." she said and bit her lip.
"And what about Pedri?" I asked.
"Well... I'll obviously end it if I want to shoot my shot with Mateo" she replied and my eyes widened.
"You really pulled it off without catching feelings?" I asked surprisedly.
"Of course. I told you that no feelings were involved, you just didn't believe me" she said and winked at me.

"Girls, I'm so sorry... My boss gave me some stick about an article and I had to re-write it all before the deadline" Irene panted as she finally arrived at our table, looking more dead than alive. As she sat down, she immediately asked what she had missed and we updated her about everything.
"I was just about to ask Vicky about the new hunk she's hanging out with..." Chiara said and leaned in with a mischievous grin on her face.
"Ooooh, Luis!! I met Rita, you know, the annoying chick from our class, on the street last week and she was FUMING that pictures of you and Luis were in every magazine!" Irene howled.
"We're just friends and we've talked about that. He's really great, he makes me happy" I just replied and smiled.
"Not even a teeny tiny bit of a crush on him?" Irene asked curiously.
"Nope. Just friends. We basically friendzoned each other. And he believes Pablo is still in love with me" I replied, which made both girls roll their eyes. They hated talking about him and Chiara quickly changed the subject.

"Anyways, Mateo and I thought about grabbing dinner with Luis and you next week, if you want, we can find you a date too, Irene" she said and wiggled with her eyebrows.
"Spare me. I'm happily single, you guys go on your double date" Irene said and raised her hands.
"I'm free Tuesday and Wednesday evening, I'm basically on the road every day now thanks to football" I sighed while checking my calendar.
"Yeah, I was meaning to ask. How long do you have to cover? When will you go back to politics?" Irene asked.
"Ugh, Joan told me until the end of the league season. Probably I'll also have to do the EUROs, he's not optimistic about finding a good reporter so quickly." I huffed.
"Boo hoo, poor Vicky has to look at handsome, athletic men and travel around Europe for a few more months" Chiara joked and I hit her lightly while laughing myself.
We had a great rest of the evening before parting ways and all going off to sleep.
