After Pablo left me, I couldn't sleep all night. What were his intentions? Was he playing with me? Was he trying to win me back? Or was it just a teenage whim? All those questions were still bombarding my mind the next morning, even though I had to work overtime after yesterday's happenings. Football and especially Barca Twitter was on fire, with me getting into an online fight with Paco Gonzalez, who did some nasty comments on Cubarsi, only to find out that Pablo had done the same on Instagram and now everyone was shipping us again and doing weird collages and edits of us.
When I arrived at lunch, Luis immediately noticed the distraught look on my face, that guy always saw right through me and I hated it. "You look radiant on this Monday morning" he chuckled as he greeted me and we sat down. "I've rarely had worse Monday mornings... And this should be my day off!" I whined as I took the menu to study it. After ordering food and drinks, he eyed me with a weird look. "What?" I asked. "Have you seen Gavi lately?" he shot right out and my hands started sweating. "No, why?" I asked back. I was blatantly lying because I was afraid. Afraid of my feelings and telling others about them. "Just asking" he hummed and I raised my eyebrows.
"Anyways, how's the mood? Are you safe?" I asked as the food arrived. "Mood is alarmingly low. To be honest, I'm more than safe..." he started and earned him a very surprised look by me. He was the President's nephew, I thought of his post as very unstable if the mood against Laporta tilted. "...after Gavi accepted my proposal of cutting his salary by 50%" he continued and I almost spit out the water I was drinking. "He did WHAT?" I asked, recalling his absolute anger about that last night. "Yeah, I got an e-mail from his agent early this morning" he said, still piercing me with his eyes. He was sure I had something to do with it and maybe he was right, but I would never admit that.
Thankfully, he didn't touch the topic again for the rest of the lunch and after giving him back his car, he was kind enough to drive me home.
