Kiera was sat in a room that resembled something akin to a classroom, but more... dreadful. Now that Hydra has deemed her worthy of being one of their 'products', they've taken it upon themselves to teach her things they considered important; mathematics, languages, weaponry, etc.

The overhead lights were bright, painfully so— every time she's in this 'classroom', Kiera always leaves with a headache.

The walls were a dull, light grey. No windows, of course, and a large whiteboard was mounted at the front of the room.

A man by the name of Dr. Ivanov, who held multiple PhDs, is the one teaching her everything within Hydra's guidelines.

He was a strict, rigid man— and although he hasn't been cruel to her like Pierce and the scientists, he was cold and detached, making the young girl feel even more alone than she already does.

Today's learning session was focused solely on languages. As of right now, Ivanov has Kiera learning Russian, German, and English simultaneously; it was hard, and any mistakes she made weren't overlooked.

Pierce has made it clear that there's no room for screw-ups in this organization, and that punishments are bountiful.

One of the most used forms of punishment they give her, is tasing her with a cattle prod— if she mixes up words? Cattle prod. Pronounced something incorrectly? Cattle prod. Ivanov asks her a question and she doesn't have an answer? Cattle prod.

To say that Kiera has developed a fear of electricity was an understatement— each time the cattle prod is presented, the feeling of complete dread overwhelms her.

She no longer fights the guards, she knows it's futile. Kiera can't even use her power because Pierce had the scientists construct a collar that blocks it entirely, and if she does try, the collar electrocutes her.

Pierce told her that once she's learned enough in the classroom, they'll move her onto her next level of training— whatever that meant.

Ivanov, who had been writing out Russian terminology on the whiteboard, turned to her and pointed to a sentence:

"What does this say, two-four-nine?" He asked in Italian.

Kiera's grey eyes flit over the words multiple times, and on the fifth time, she began internally panicking— she didn't know. She didn't know, and now she's screwed.

A guard who was stood a little ways behind her, stepped forward. In his hand? The dreaded cattle prod.

Now, even though this isn't the first time they've punished her this way, it still never gets easier. The guard didn't hesitate to jab the rod into her side, pressing the little red button.

All Kiera knew in that moment was pain. She had fallen out of her chair, her body spasming violently as tears flowed from her tightly shut eyes.
