I flew home that next morning with Vivian and Wyatt. Now we are all in my apartment sitting in silence, feeling the jet lag catch up to us.
Vivian is cooking us dinner in the kitchen, Wyatt is sitting in there with her so she isn't alone. I'm curled up in a ball in the couch missing my girlfriend.
"Foods done, Tate. You hungry?" Vivian walks into the living room and brushes my hair out of my face, I just shake my head. "Cmon, you haven't eaten anything since we landed. Just take a few bites."
"I'm not hungry."
"Tatum.." She sighs and walks away, I pull out my phone and dial Renee's number.
It rings a few times before she answers, "Hi honey, missing me already?"
I smile at the sound of her voice, "Are you busy?"
"Uh.. just a little, but I have time to talk. How's your day going, baby?"
"It's okay.. I miss you so much."
I sound pathetic. She's busy and here I am whining about how much I miss her when, in reality, she probably is too busy to give me a second thought.
"I miss you more."
"What are you busy with?" I ask, sitting up on the couch and walking into the kitchen.
"Just writing some new songs. There's this one that I'm calling Poison Poison about an old.. friend." Renee goes on about her new song, I listen and eventually find myself eating some of the food that Vivian prepared. "Interesting right?"
"Everything about you is interesting." I say as I take another bite.
"Baby, I gotta go. Can I call you later?" She says out of the blue, I'm guessing Julia is there.
"Yeah, bye my love."
"Bye honey." Then she hangs up.

Later that evening, we all decided to watch a movie to end our night before Wyatt and Vivian go back home. We decided on Mean Girls (2004) since it's my personal favorite.
We're about halfway through the movie when my phone rings, Vivian picks it up, "Hello?"
I can't hear the other end of the conversation.
"Yeah she's here, don't you worry. We're watching a movie."
"Is it Renee?" I ask, Vivian nods. "Give me the phone."
"She wants to talk to me dick face. Renee is my best friend." Vivian says with a smug grin, I can hear Renee's laugh on the other end of the call. "I'm joking, here you go."
She hands me the phone, "Hi baby." I excuse myself from the living room and go into the kitchen.
"I told you I'd call you later. How was your day?"
"Pretty decent, we've just been inside all day. The jet lag is catching up to us." I laugh.
"I wish I was there with you." She sighs, "My day hasn't been the best.. Julia keeps asking for more music but my brain doesn't work that fast." Renee laughs, I smile. "I was thinking of recording the song that I wrote for you. We could play it for your friends to make them dance and cry."
I grin, "Wyatt and Vivi would love that song, they'd want it on repeat all the time."
When someone knocks on the door, I excuse myself from the call to answer it.
The person on the other side is someone I thought i'd never see again.
"Addie?"
When Vivian hears my voice say that name, she rushes over and stands in front of me. "Why are you here?"
"Vivian, as much as I'd love to talk to you, I'm here for Tatum." Addie crosses her arms over her chest as she leans against the doorframe.
"She doesn't want to talk to you-"
"What do you want, Addie?" I ask, gently pushing Vivian away.
"Isn't that obvious? I want you back, Tatum." She smirks, "I saw that you're dating that celebrity.. but you know I treated you better than she does."
I shake my head, "We both know that's a lie. You cheated on me multiple times."
"People make mistakes." She shrugs, "People change, Tatum." Addie sighs and takes a step inside, "Fine, can we at least just try to be friends?"
"No." Vivian says.
"We can't be friends, Addie." I say.
"Just give me one chance to prove to you that I changed.. one chance."
I sigh and look at my ex girlfriend, her brown eyes filled with tears. I shake my head and shrug, "One chance."
"Tatum!" Vivian yells at me.
"Can we hangout tomorrow at the cafe?" Addie asks with hopeful eyes.
"Yeah.. I'll see you there at noon." I shut the door after Addie walks away.
"Are you insane!? What will Renee think!" Vivian pushes my shoulders, "You're such a fucking dumbass!"
"Maybe this is healthy, V! Maybe creating a friendship with her will-"
"Will what. That girl cheated on you, Tatum! She used you! She's just going to do the same thing in a friendship. And how will Renee react!?" She argues with me, causing Wyatt to walk over to us.
"She won't care!" I try to argue back, but in the back of my mind I know I'm wrong.
"You're a fucking idiot. You're so fucking stupid, Tatum." She grabs her bag, "You're going to ruin everything that you worked so hard for, for Addie. You're going to lose your girlfriend for Addie." Then she leaves.
"What did you do?" Wyatt asks as he grabs his car keys.
"I'm meeting up with Addie tomorrow.."
"And Addie is..?"
"My ex."
"Oh shit. She's right, Tatum, you're being a little stupid.." He tries to sound genuine.
I shrug and close the door when he leaves.
